I tested positive and I plan to decide during labor. From what my providers have told me your baby is more at risk if your water breaks early in labor but if your water breaks right before giving birth your need for antibiotics goes down. I relate though! It’s challenging.

I tested positive and I’m gonna take them bc personally I don’t see why not

I personally am just to be safe cause if it does transmit it can cause meningitis from what I've read. It won't hurt having antibiotics for a very short time

hi! I just gave birth to my baby girl about two weeks ago and I also tested positive for strep B. I just felt like giving you my experience might help calm your nerves. I did decide to receive medication during my labor as the risks of meningitis are high if not medicated. Of course everyone is open to their own decision. I was given penicillin every four hours up until I delivered my baby. It’s very common for moms to test positive for this so the hospital staff is prepared.
