Is anybody’s baby measuring “small” ? They said my baby is measuring in the 12th percentile and he’s 3 pounds 9 ounces I’m 32 weeks tomorrow and they’re scaring me bc they have no explanation for why this is happening and I’m getting mixed messages about if this is something to worry about or not. They want me to come every week now to monitor his growth.

I was literally coming on this app to post about the same thing. I’m 30 weeks tomorrow and baby is measuring in the 9th percentile. I have to see a specialist and my OB once a week now. From what I’ve researched online it’s called FGR. From what I’ve gathered, the constant monitoring is to make sure baby is making some growth progress (ideally 200 grams a week *might be bi-weekly, still confused on that) anyways, if they are not then it might be better for the baby to come early so that they can get all the nutrients they need. Do you know if your doctor did a BPP test?

I’m sorry what is bpp test ? I’m not sure I’m a Ftm and I don’t know alot and nobody is explaining anything to me and it’s really scaring me because they’re making everything sound so bad 😭

My baby is measuring small in the abdomen in the 15th percentile I’m 30 weeks he’s 3lbs 7oz for reference.. is he measuring small everywhere or certain thing? I will get a ultrasound every week to monitor him after next week! But I know it’s hard to not worry ! But everything will work out🩷

So my first pregnancy they thought my son was small and had me come back to monitor growth. The next check he was back on track and I didn't have to go back but they will mainly monitor that baby is still growing consistently. I wouldn't be too concerned, could always add extra protein to your diet which may help growth. Each baby and pregnancy is different, my sister was GD and had a 5lb and 6lb kids. My first son was 8 lbs and 3 weeks early and this current baby is measuring ahead 2 weeks already

My baby is measuring small, they told me she’s in the 8th percentile and I’m freaking out. They have no explanations for me either and I’m having to go to weekly appointments now too!!

it’s a biophysical profile. They test the baby’s heart rate, muscle tone, movement, amniotic fluid and breathing movements- baby can score up to an 8 on this test. They may schedule a non-stress test(?)..
You gotta remember it’s their job to paint worse case scenario for us so that we know what we are up against. From my understanding, anything 10th percentile and below is really concerning. I’d ask your OB for an ultrasound to do the BPP scan to see how your baby is doing. My baby scored an 8, which is great, however the abdominal cavity is smaller than they like (I guess this is the next place they look at baby does well on BPP).
Just remember that you’ll be able to have eye/ears on baby every week and that’s a good thing. I know it’s hard to look on the bright side of things, but 37 week is technically full term, just gotta make it through the next 5 weeks. Good luck, hon. ❤️

I was told my baby is under weight because as mother's we have 3 major veins that goes between mom and baby. I only have 2. So I've known for months she would be small. Also I'm 32 weeks and I get ultrasounds every 2 weeks

that’s interesting bc I’m 30wks and mine is 3lbs 8oz. According to online that 2wks ahead. Doctors haven’t said anything as I find out weight through a study but curious as to whether I should alert my midwives now 😩
