So I put up a poll earlier about whether or not you dry baby's bum when changing their nappy, and now I've got some answers I was wondering what you'd do in this situation?
Yesterday I was at my MIL's, changing my little girls nappy (which is not an unusual occurrence), then my MIL came over with a tissue and was like sorry I just need to dry her and patted her bum with the tissue. Then she said, oh mummy might not like me doing this incase it gets stuck to you... Bare in mind my baby is 6 months next week.
Once before when my baby was about a month old and my husband was changing her she mentioned he should dry her bum, but that's the only other time she's involved herself like this.
I was just wondering what you'd do? I brushed it off yesterday, but actually now that Ive thought about it it's really annoyed me. As if every time I change my little girl she's internally critiquing me. I don't really care what she thinks but I don't want to change my little girl in front of her again
Just to add, I don't dry my little girl after changing her bum, unless perhaps adding cream occasionally. She also commented yesterday how it was great that she has very rarely had a sore bum. I also breastfeed and she was singing to my daughter yesterday how breast is best which really just gave me the ick

I would hold my hand out like this✋️ to stop her touching/wiping whatever and say it's fine the way I do it, but thank you

You’ve been doing this for 6 months, I’m sure you know what you’re doing. She’s had her go, too late now for her to have a say.
And no, I never dry with anything after a nappy change, maybe add cream every now and then.
