Nope, calpol is a painkiller. I use it for teething if nothing else has worked and for temps over 39.5
ok thank u

I have used when I can hear he has a sore throat and he just isnt himself and very moany. Doctors have said thats okay.

We use it for snotty nose and a cough. My thoughts are that they can't tell us what hurts, so i just keep an eye out for changes after the calpol. If there isn't a change, he doesn't get another dose. If he 'cheers up,' then I will give it again

As above, not unless upset/unsettled or a temperature. Sometimes I have given it and there is no change so wasn't really needed so I just monitor and see how he goes xx

Nope, I agree with Molly. X

what’s the evidence for this?

I work in clinical research, not aware or anything of the sort and Google doesn’t help

Its also why they no longer recommend giving calpol before jabs unless its needed. Unnecessary paracetamol intake "just incase"
My LG had some after her first jabs and was violently sick. She's 13 months now and never had it since.

fully aware of google scholar and can’t find any systematic reviews or meta analyses or general guidelines hence asking. Think spurious statements need to be considered

@Sarrah tbf I don't we need evidence to know calpol will do nothing for a runny nose with no fever. Some vicks and a cuddle will be fine. X

happy for you to send them to me 👍🏽
thank you totally with you on that. I worry that she make have a headache or something. She was really struggling last night I gave her some and slept for four hours. Which was better considering she was up every hour 😩
