We met the doctor today, my baby girl’s weight gain is a bit slow, comes in 15 percentile at 13 weeks. The doctor suggested to start solids when she is 4 months old, next month so she gains good weight. I knew starting solids at 6 months is safest and not recommended before 6 months. I am worried if my babe will be comfortable with solids so early, she is exclusively breastfed. Thoughts?

A friend of mine had a similar situation with her first and was told the same. If I remember correctly, her daughter’s pediatrician said as long as she can hold her head up, she can start solids at 4 months

Is your baby on formula or breastfed?
my babe can lift her head for a few minutes but not continuous, its still 1 month left, she will grow!
i have the same plan to start with purées with her
she is exclusively breastfed

My sister in law started her kids with solids at 4 months.

In that case do you think her low weight may be due to supply issues? Instead of introducing solids so young, how about a bottle of formula?
okay, i just need to learn the safe way to feed her solids, hope it goes well
my supply is good and she feeds for shorter period in one session, every 1.5 hour. She refuses bottle completely..tried formula and pumped milk in the bottle, no luck
