Induction - ballon catheter

Currently on the induction ward and have had the balloon catheter in for about 16 hours at this point. Anyone else been induced this way and have any words of reassurance? It’s horrendously painful and keep having intermittent contractions but having to wait until the 24 hour mark to have it removed. Worried this induction could end up taking days, am already 41+1 😭

Sorry to hear, I hope your little one arrives safe very soon! I'm being induced tomorrow and I have no idea what to expect x

all the best with your induction!! It’s all a bit daunting isn’t it, they assess when you come in to see which method is best for you. Unfortunately for me my cervix was completely closed so balloon catheter was the way forward! x

So sorry your going through so much pain with it, I’ve just had mine taken out (doesn’t hurt at all to have removed they drain the fluid before removing it)
Just waiting for a bed to be available to have my waters broken.
Heat doesn’t help the whole process but we’ll get through it ☺️
Good luck Xx

Mine came out after 17 hours and after a cervical exam I started having regular contractions. Jusy less than 24 hours after it came out I had my baby boy in my arms 🥰

out of curiosity, were you allowed home to wait for a bed? X

no I’ve been kept in as they wanted to do “regular” checks on me and baby. But I’ve heard other people can go home yes :)) xx

Scan needed at 33 weeks

Hi ladies! I just had a midwife appointment (I am 33+5)..the midwife was different to my usual midwife. She's requested I have a scan within 72 hours as she said baby is measuring a little small, however, she did say that it's likely nothing to worry about and it's probably just her measuring me a bit different to my usual midwife. Has anyone else had this? Am a bit worried although babys heartbeat and movements are completely fine.

Finding out gender

Has anyone found out the gender at a private scan at 14 weeks? And has this been accurate?

I found out at 17 with my first but I know a scan place that offers from 14/15 weeks and I’m impatient 😂🥲

Rolling milestone at 5 months - What’s typical ?

Good morning ladies,

My daughter will be 5 months old tomorrow, but there’s still no sign of her rolling. She does tummy time and loves lying on her mat, playing with hanging toys above her and to the sides, but she only lifts her legs and doesn’t seem interested in rolling or moving sideways yet.

Anyone else the same or have your babies already learnt how to roll yet ?

Thank you
