Wild swim freak out

Hi all. Since its been lovely weather i went for a quick swim the the river this evening. I was thinking about the temperature in terms of the baby but i didnt stay in long, less than 10 minutes. But now im so anxious about possible infection since i remembered that they recommend that you don't go in hot tubs because of infection risk. I live in Aberdeen where we have clean rivers, it's the river Dee,about 3-4 miles from the sea. Help :(

Can’t help with the wild swimming part but I am continuing to cold plunge every morning in about 8 degree water. I’ve been doing it for about 6 months before pregnancy and I mentally rely on it now. NHS don’t seem to have much guidance on it but some of my family are danish and it’s a huge part of their pregnancies to continue wild swimming in the cold too.

Hot tubs etc aren’t about infection, it’s about causing your core body temperature to rise. Same as saunas and steam rooms.

I haven’t seen anything from NHS advising against cold. I’m sure it’s fine
