Need Inspo for newborn receiving outfit!

My son had a short sleeved onesie, a long sleeved footie pajama, a little cross-over baby sweater, and hat, and he was a January baby. If we were in the room rather than leaving he was mostly in a 2.5 TOG sleep sack with a long sleeved onesie underneath.

thanks Kelly is it easier to dress in two piece clothes or a good one piece full bodysuit in the initial days? I’m considering will have to do a lot of diaper changes and clothes changes . And since I’m a gestational diabetes mom I think they’ll probably be doing heel prick tests for baby . I’m a bit confused .

Also which size is better for first few days . Newborn. Or. 0-3months size ?

thanks this is so cute . I love customised idea We still haven’t decided on a name yet (I know it’s late 😅😅) but the material appears to be so soft . I was thinking of going white /cream colour for the first day too.

For me, we layered while in the hospital since it was a bit cold, and I found full pajamas easier than pants until his umbilical cord fell off so there wasn’t a waistband rubbing. Once we were home he was often in baby gowns (You know, long sleeve and full coverage but open at the bottom) to make diaper changes easier, and I’d put a sweater on him or a sleep sack as needed. It depends how big your baby was projected to be? My son was 3.41 kg and he had one or two newborn things but mostly wore 0-3 months, even if it was a little long on him, and he was out of 0-3 months by 6 weeks old. I have big babies though. I bough a few more newborn things this time around, mostly the little cross-body opening onesies, just for layering with other clothes. I do like to have a onesie underneath if it’s cold while they’re small, just to keep heat around their core. In general, your baby should be wearing one more layer than you are.

He also wore pants a size too large the whole winter so I could roll them down over his feet, much much easier than keeping socks on him
