Hello all, did anyone have an episiotomy during labour? I’m 8 days postpartum and just wondering how long it took you to recover ? I’m struggling a lot not being able to do much and the pain is sometimes unbearable! I also hate the fact I can’t take my little one out for a nice walk because it hurts

Hey! I had an episiotomy and I also had a tear too. It took me probably 2 and a half weeks to feel like I didn’t need any more painkillers at all. I also lost a lot of blood so when I got home I was taking co-codamol every 6 hours and ibuprofen every 6 hours but 3 hours in between the co-codamol. I was also taking iron tablets to help me feel better after the blood loss. You will feel better very soon. Try to do gentle slow walks around the house first.x
