Call your pediatrician. There are too many factors to consider and not much context here. Does baby have a fever? How old is baby? What makes you think baby is in pain, did something happen? Depending on what is causing baby to be fussy would determine what if any, medication is needed. Consult with your pediatrician.

They are probably just over tired

Yes if it's a cold you are worried about unfortunately there are no cold medicines they can have at this age and extremely dangerous to give them any of those! So zarabees has a good vapor rub, oologic vapor bath and using the snot sucker to clear them out will help if congestion is the issue. Def talk to your doc if there is a fever before you give any meds! Good luck, hope little one feels better soon.

I wouldn’t use the medecine for the “just in case”. If your baby doesn’t have fever I would not give anything.

Babies have a lot of developmental leaps and they get fussy out of nowhere for a couple of days, sleep is disrupted etc. If there are no symptoms like runny nose, fever, being super sleepy, constipated? i wouldn’t give anything unless pediatrician said otherwise.
