Help

I’m really struggling to eat, I was SO hungry for the first 3 weeks after finding that I was eating little and often which was great. And since I’ve got to 7 weeks, I’ve got no appetite and everything smells so bad that I don’t feel eating anything when it’s in front of me.
Is anyone else experiencing this? How are you making sure you get enough nutrients when your body is fighting against eating?

I’m 7 weeks and I’ve been like this for the last 2 weeks .. it’s so hard like I just try to have toast or cereal in the morning, noodles in the afternoon but when it gets to tea time everything just makes me feel sick, you definitely have a little bit of the food aversion symptoms .. not sure on how to overcome it because I’m still struggling 💀💀 and I’m normally a foodie! Just try have nice fruits cold like watermelon, apples, grapes etc xx

thank you! It’s good to know I’m not alone! I have been having grapes and apples since I found out and that seems to be okay! But yeah it’s like you say it’s the evenings where I’m like nope, no entrance 😂 mornings I’m like dying to eat and manage fine, still doesn’t taste the best but I can manage

My husband goes mad because he thinks whatever I’m eating isn’t like sufficient enough, everyone I’ve spoken to said eat little and often and whatever your body is telling you to eat, just eat 😁 I think in a few weeks we will be the complete opposite and want to eat everything in sight 😂 I think sticking to fruit and bland stuff will help xx

I bloody hope so 😂😂 I miss having all my favourite stuff haha xx

I’m on week 9 and I am still having this issue. I have however forced myself every time I’m sick to eat something like dry toast, watermelon or uncle bens packet rice. It’s scary and a horrible feeling but just eat whatever you can do not worry about what others say you have time to eat healthy when the time is right and you can stomach good again.

that’s reassuring, thank you! Hopefully it comes back for both of us soon!!

I've been the same from about 7 weeks too! I started to panic thinking I was going to loose weight, but so far I've not physcially been sick.
I've been the same, morning - lunch I'm starving but can only stomach little at tea time! Seeing this has been quite reassuring x

Your baby is getting everything it needs from what you already have in your body and as long as your taking your vitamin tablets - particularly folic acid try not to worry. I’ve had this exact conversation with my doctor this week as I’m either eating too little or beige white bread and McDonald’s! But doctors said try not to worry it’s pretty normal first trimester and just eat whatever you can. I’ve found fridge cold slices of apple easier to take the last few days and feels like such and achievement getting some nutrients 😂 it’s literally one apple and I’m patting myself on the back.

I’ve also found the warburtons thins and plain chicken sandwiches as my go too. Easier to handle than proper bread.

I also got fancy chicken stock from M&S and added cooked chicken and rice and that was easy to take. Dipped some bread in too.

But basically yeah just white toast and weetabix.

Oh and cold sausage rolls 😁

Thanks everyone! This is really reassuring 🥰 and thank you also for the tips!

I’ve smiled at these responses I have too only managed chicken sandwiches, Mc Donald’s apples to settle tummy and watermelon. Sometimes it’s nice to know you aren’t going through things alone especially when your surrounded by others saying they have 0 symptoms! 🙈

my go to would be chicken fried rice and sweet sour sauce from the chippy every night .. but at £9.80 a go .. I really don’t think I can 😂😂 especially with a baby on the way hahaha need to save xx

I'm struggling to eat all day, and then 6pm onwards I'm starving😂 noodles has been the only thing that will stay down so for now that'll do. Something is better than nothing, so just do what you can until you can stomach more x

Same here chick. Apart from yesterday I was starving. I’ve had little to no appetite for a week now (since middle of 6 weeks) and only been entertaining idea of unhealthy beige food. The thought of food just irks me. I am taking my prenatals every night and sipping lemon water through the day. Not much else I can do! I try to have a tbsp sea moss gel when I can but been avoiding that too.

Im on week 8 and I get days with no appetite, especially if my stomach is a bit upset. I think its normal. You can either have an increased appetite or no appetite.

Avatar

what’s sea moss gel?!

Avatar

it’s moss from sea off shores of Ireland or the Caribbean. Packed full of vitamins and minerals (contain 92 of 102 minerals for optimal body function). I’ve been having it for a year and a half now. Made huge difference to health. You can buy online (make sure they’re reputable and you know where they source their sea moss) and you can put tablespoon in smoothies or hot drink. Wouldn’t recommend consuming straight out the jar as the texture will not be enjoyable x
