Hiya,
I’m nearly 35 and me and my partner have been trying for a baby for over a year. We did conceive in feb 22 but sadly it did not last. We have been trying since May 22 with no luck at all. We are both 35- are there any mums on here aged 35+ who conceived their child over 35 who can give us some hope. Also how long did it take for you to conceive? Thankyou

Lots of women go on to have a baby at 35. I think 35 is a reasonable age to have a baby. I am 30 I have 5 children, and I am now pregnant 7+ weeks. I did feel like I am too old now, but what is 'too old' have you got the flo app? That helped me to convince this time xxx
How long did it take you? I’ve been using period calendar as it tells me when my fertile days are and when I should be due to ovulate according to my cycle average (anything from 27-29 day cycles) though I don’t have much of a flow- they only last 4-5 days.
Congratulations btw :) xxx

I'm not over 35 but it took me 4 years and 3 mcs before I was blessed with my LB. Look up vitamins that are good for conceiving, I was taking D, B, magnesium, Zinc & hubby was taking fenugreek. Then I used premom app, tracked temperature and ovulation tests everyday and logged it all in the app. After the first month, it moved my ovulation to 4 days after the apps which predict just on cycle dates (like flo) so I think we were actually missing it most months. 2nd month it predicted it to the day and we conceived 🥰

35 is definitely not too old but you do need to seek a fertility consult. Especially considering the 1y+ trying and the loss.
I'm 31. I'm expecting #2 right now. This was after 5 years of infertility treatment, multiple medicated timed intercourse cycles, 1 surgery, more medicated TI cycles, 3 IUIs, 3 IVF egg retreivals, 5 embryo transfers, a miscarriage, and autoimmune Dx, & 1 live birth (4th embryo transfer).
At the very least you need yo be confirming ovulation somehow (via OPK, basal body temp) and your partner needs a semen analysis. Highly recommend going straight to an RE at this point.
we are actually considering going for a fertility consult after our wedding next month. We just have no idea where to begin with it. I’ve already had an ultrasound which showed my ovaries etc are ok.

I had my son at 35 but it did take a while. X

That's good you've had an US and it looks good. An RE will be much more aggressive. They'll do labs, an SHG (checks for uterine abnormalities), HSG (checks for tubal patency and abnormalities), & other specific testing if it's warranted. Hubs gets off kind of easy with a semen analysis and maybe some labs.
It really depends on a lot of factors. I use SART and Fertility IQ to pick my clinic/drs. I have some coverage through insurance though. CNY is good if you don't have that coverage. They offer financing and other plans to best suit you. You can message me if you want

I'm 37. My son will be 2 weeks old tomorrow! I used an app called Flo. It tracks your cycle and tells you what days you are most fertile. I purchased the premium option. I thought I'd have lots of complications due to my age, but I really didn't, healthy pregnancy and healthy baby! It took me a few months to conceive. Have you considered seeing a fertility specialist? If I couldn't get pregnant with the app that was my next option.

I had our first at 30 and our second this year at 36 (a few months before I turned 37). This pregnancy was actually a but easier. Postpartum has been a little rough but I think it always is for me.
I think I conceived within 2 or 3 months of semi trying. I was tracking ovulation with opk strips. My flow last year only lasted 3 days, too. It's actually back to 4 or 5 since giving birth.

I had my daughter a few days before I turned 36. Our TTC journey was over 3 years before we started IVF treatment after discovering there was an issue. I'd suggest that you go to the GP and get some basic fertility blood tests for you and a semen analysis for your partner. We found out that due to very low sperm count, we would have been very unlikely to conceive naturally (never a hint of a positive in 3 years) and we're referred for IVF. 3 egg collections and 3 transfers later, we finally saw the magical 2 lines on a test. Good luck! x

Hi! I lost a baby too in May 2021 when I was 35 but was able to conceive healthily and to term last Oct 2022, at 36. It really helped that I focused on my well-being, physically but moreso mentally and emotionally. I made sure to take supplements and a balanced diet. I just gave birth in June 2023, had a healthy pregnancy too. Stay strong, it’s never easy losing a child, but they will always be part of us no matter what.

I had my son (conceived and birthed when I was 36). Tried once or twice

I'm 40, and i have a healthy 2 month baby girl. I Wish i was 35, i wouldve had 2! It's not too old. Btw, i had 2 miscairrages last year, It happens, dont get discouraged!

I am 37, and am 36 weeks along in my second pregnancy (successful pregnancy). I will be turning 38 not long after baby is born.
My very first 2 pregnancies ended in miscarriage before I had my first child at 33.

I had baby 1 at 33 and plan to start trying again next year when I'm 35 for baby 2

Conceived my daughter naturally when I was 38 & gave birth at 39. No issues whatsoever through the pregnancy. The birth had some complications but nothing to do with my age.
We're struggling to get baby number 2 here, so far we've had 2 miscarriages but we're still trying. I'm 41 and haven't given up hope yet x

I had my first child at 37, pregnant with my second now at 39. There's definitely hope. Praying it happens for you soon 🙏🏾

It's not too late. My mom had my sister's when she was 46, and my step-dad was 43. They did have to do IVF because they were older, but it worked on the first round, and they ended up with twins, which is what they wanted.

I got pregnant with my daughter at 34, on the first try and a few weeks after I had her I turned 35. I'm 38 now and pregnant with my second and it took like 3 months this time. I have a friend that is 2 years younger than me and she found out that her husband had a small benign tumor in his brain that was pressing against his skull and it was actually causing less hormones to be released and lowered his sperm count significantly. The doctor gave him medication to shrink the tumor and his count isn't where it should be yet, but it has increased. Point being it's not always about age, other factors can be involved. It would be good for both of you to get checked out by a doctor.

Wow - such a blessing that it happened quickly both times x

My sister had her third child at the age of 38.

I'm 38 years old and got pregnant without trying to conceive. I have had a miscarriage before this pregnancy but was not taking care of myself at that point. I am 30 weeks pregnant right now and have had a fairly uncomplicated pregnancy this time around. This will be our first child

I'm 37 had my baby this year

Im 36 now. Conceived at 35 and unfortunately miscarried but got pregnant 6 months later and just gave birth 6 weeks ago. It's possible 😊

I'm 37. I turn 38 on October 5. My son was born June 21 🥰 ( was due July 9 but he had other ideas 🤣🤣🤣). We were casually trying once I had the blockade out on may 30, started casually trying in June. I got pregnant in late October of last year.
If you've been trying for over a year, it's usually recommended to see someone. ( actually recommended if you've been trying for six months if you are 35 or older)

But also, if you're stressing, you're less likely to conceive

No, it's not! I had our beautiful, healthy baby girl at 39 (in 2022) and she's about to turn 1 🥹 (Natural birth, no complications) We also had a miscarriage in 2021. Unfortunately, it's not openly discussed, but really common. 1 in 4 pregnancies are miscarried.
With our first pregnancy, I conceived within a month. After the miscarriage, we tried for 8 mos before our little blessing came.
Don't give up! See your OB/GYN & take those prenatal vitamins!! 🤍🕊

It’s definitely not too late! But I would recommend full checkups if you can. Good luck 🍀

I’m 39 and it’s taken me 2 years with help from a fertility specialist
