I know this is a touchy subject but I’m really needing some stories or positive advice because I’m about to make a huge decision.

If I'm being honest it'll always have the possibility of staying heavy on your mind. It's a big decision that affects you and the baby if you make whatever decision you plan to. You don't have to but if you feel comfortable I'm open to talking. I've been through it and I was alone . At times I think that's why it's so much harder. But I know it was the right choice as I wasn't in the right place in my life with a person who cared for me. My daughter now is so lucky and if I hadn't made the decision I did I don't know how that babies life would have been

Im not sure if its a positive story if it counts... but i knew then and still know now it was the right decision. I think of where i was then vs where i am now in my life and all that i can offer my son that i wouldn't have been able to then. My son has a easy blessed life because im mature and chose a father that provides and cares about him. Everyone has an opinion but you are the one in charge of your life. Best wishes 💗

Not to scare you or anything, but I had a friend who had an abortion because she wasn't ready at that time to have kids, and it messed up her body to the point that when she finally wanted to have kids she struggled for years. It's not as safe as people say it is. Watch out for your own health. Also, my guy friend's mom got pregnant when she was 16, and everyone pushed her to have an abortion but she couldn't do it, and now she's glad she had him instead of going through with it.

I don't think there is any such thing as a positive abortion story tbh. No matter how right it is for you at the time and how well it goes, it is harrowing and painful. Only you can make the decision, only you know what's best for you and your family at the time and if it's something you will regret.
That said, I had one a few years before having my baby. I didn't have any complications and I don't agonise over it daily because I know I wasn't ready to be the best mum I could be just then.

I went with the pill option, I took the first one, waited less that 48 hours then took the other ones. I took two high strength Tylenol before taking the second pills. About an hour later I was cramping and bleeding. I bled for about 4 or 5 days. The cramping was uncomfortable but manageable, probably due to the Tylenol. I was about 7 wks. I was fortunate to not have any complications that I am aware of. I would recommend this option, if its available to you!

Positive ABORTION story??? That doesn't exist. Maybe you were looking for another word.

Theres positive abortion stories? Mine wasnt negative or bad.

can I ask how it messed up her body?

never heard of a positive ABORTION... unless the pregnancy was a health risk

I know quite a few women who’ve had abortions. All positive stories.

nope, mine was positive and wasnt a health risk.

I had an abortion when I was 19 I've never regretted it. It was physically painful and it was expensive because I didn't have insurance but I knew i wasn't ready to be a mom yet

@Shola abortion has side effects, one of them being uterine damage

it *can* have, same as any medical procedure and also childbirth.

@Atheena if the pregnancy was a health risk that would be an incredibly negative abortion. I think what you mean is you don't approve of them unless for that reason.

a quick google search will tell you that damage is likely if you have repeat surgical abortions, Stop scaring people. Abortions are generally safe & the biggest Risk comes from if there is an infection after.
Sorry ladies I’ve sifted through the negative comments (well ones that I thought were negative) so that’s why you don’t see them anymore. I’ve googled and talked to my dr the risks. The reason why I’m considering this is because I have an 11 month old daughter and I got pregnant on birth control and I just left the relationship because it is very unhealthy and I have no family to fall back on so I don’t think I can give this baby the life it deserves and I’d have a very hard time raising two kids on my own as I do have epilepsy (seizures) and it’s very straining as it is being pregnant and controlling those seizures, and I really need to focus on my daughter and what she needs because her dad has no interest in being in her life now after leaving him.
If you read all that thank you so much ❤️

@Shola, if that's true, why did my friend have damage with one? She was traumatized after, and she allowed me to tell her story because she regretted it not because of the baby but because of the toll it took on her body afterward. It affected her other babies. Even though people say they're generally safe, that doesn't mean anything. Abortions have risks. You can't just say they're generally safe because even with just one abortion the risk is there whether you have one or multiple.
this wasn’t a post for negativity, this was your friends experience which I’m sorry for her. But that’s doesn’t mean everyone will have the same outcome. And women going through having to make this decision shouldn’t be scared or shamed out of doing so. So if you continue to not have anything nice to say please stop commenting.

so you equally share this information on posts about miscarriage?

childbirth carries more risk than abortion

really sorry about friend. But every medical procedure comes with risk. It’s down to each individual to decide whether the risk is worth taking. In regards to abortions those risk are very rare and not all cause fertility issues and the ones that do can normally be treated before it gets that serious. Again, I’m sorry your friend had problems and I don’t know her to comment on what unfortunately happened but please don’t spread fear because the majority of women have safe abortions with no complications. Which is their right & choice.

@SquishyMommy1, what's the correlation there?

How am I scaring or shaming anyone? All I said was be informed because these doctors won't always discuss all the risks from having an abortion which was the case for my friend. Do the research yourselves because some doctors only care about profit and not the patient. Talk it over with your friends and family because they're your support, not some strange women on an app who don't know you.

a d&c is the exact. Same. Procedure. But I bet you don’t go around telling women who had a miscarriage the same thing you commented here.

@SquishyMommy1, you're completely out of line. It's not the same they don't have a choice. Why are you comparing that to an abortion? During my first pregnancy, I was told by a doctor that I was having a miscarriage because I was having abnormal bleeding. Do you know how that feels? So no, it's not the same.

because you came onto a post about abortion asking for no negative remarks. To leave a negative remark. I’ve had a miscarriage. It’s 100% the same procedure. Your commentary in this thread was unnecessary

@SquishyMommy1 The procedure might be the same, but the feelings behind are different, and that's what you're not understanding. If my remark about making sure you know all the side effects and are well informed about abortion when it comes to your body is negative then anytime you get a new medication and the pharmacist asks if you have any questions about the medication that's negative? You're completely unnecessary in this thread. I'm not trying to convince her not to have an abortion but to do her research, especially because we're all different.

Incognito, it sounds like you're doing the best thing for your daughter and yourself. Wish you all the best x

you are not a pharmacist and nobody asked for your commentary on it. They go over the risks with you when you have the procedure. She didn’t need some random internet stranger negative Nancy to come here and try to sway her away from the choice because your friend had an *extremely rare* complication. Your original comment was completely unnecessary
