Group B Swab

It was fine didnt hurt or anything i tested negative

The swab for me was perfectly fine. It didn’t really feel like much. The checking if I was dilated was very uncomfortable, but still manageable pain.

my Mfm done at 32 weeks . Negative too.

i haven’t had my OB/MFM specialist (same office, normal people i’ve went to this whole time) mention doing this? i’ve heard about it and i know it’s a common thing, but i was at my OB last Tuesday (33+6) for growth scan&routine visit. they went ahead and gave me tdap vaccine as well but i realized they haven’t mentioned doing the swab or anything. i go back on the 15th to discuss pros/cons of c section vs vaginal (they are letting me decide due to a non pregnancy related medical condition) and to meet with anesthesiologist so they can make sure i can have an epidural with my fucked up back lol, but when is the common time frame for having the swab done?

I got mine at 35 weeks and 1 day. However my dr just decides when things are going to happen without giving me notice. So I walked in and he said “time for the group b swab”. So I don’t know if 35 weeks is standard or not.

I will be 36 weeks… they haven’t done this yet. Hmm

It’s not an internal swab per say like a pap… it’s just a little swipe of your bum and vajay
