100%! I’m on maternity leave and my work(supermarket) last year were horrific, I was expected to work in a freezing cold warehouse in winter, kept catching all sorts of infections, was fevery one day in work and put my jumper on and got screamed at. Spoke to my midwife about it and she signed me off for 8 weeks before my maternity was due to start! Cause of all the infections it was causing baby to not grow properly and I ended up having to get induced early cause of how much I was struggling and baby. I was in management and there was meant to be 2 of us but I was there myself doing everything and the stress was horrendous! Safe to say I’m not going back lol especially as I’m pregnant again!

I asked my boss to do a risk assessment, im a cleaner in a school, she said there is no risk. Well i clean two fights of stairs and have to come down backwards to brush and mop them. She said she didnt see the risk in that. 🤦♀️

Yes I told my boss, (the owner of the company) and he told me to make sure that on days where I feel well to work three times harder to make sure that I do more for if I have an off day because of sickness 😑

Oh my gosh yes!! I’m currently off sick too. Have been for the last week which has been extended for another week. Mainly due to extreme tiredness but also work stress. My manager asks me each day how I am to almost pretend as if he cares and if I say I’m stressed.. I’m ignored. If I say I’m having to work more to hit target- I’m ignored and I’m not given that time back - aslong as I hit the target- nothing else matters. He only messages to check I’m going to hit my target. I had hysterically cried to him one week due my emotions.. I was told to take a couple of minutes but make sure I’m back to be on the inbound line. I’m working as hard as everyone else yet I’m struggling more. What was the final straw for me is when I said I worked over my hours to hit the target and I wasn’t even offered the time back like it was a given (id worked 4 hours extra that week)- I was open and honest and said I’m struggling and I’m finding it harder.. I then kept getting the worst headaches I’ve ever

Had which spread down through my neck and back.. it’s been put down to work stress. I’ve been told that work is important whilst I’m off sick.. but to focus on myself too. It’s a joke. Xx

We shouldnt have to put up with this i work on a ward with patients that are aggressive and violent. They expect me to be in there with the patients i aint risking my first babies life to get hit. I emailed asking for a move to somewhere with lighter duties an nothings been done. Im being told by the people i work with that its not safe for me to come back but not had any messages or calls off management or head nurses to see how i am but i explain everything an how scared i am an nothing like they dont care xx

they dont care about us risking everything but its different if they are in our situation

you should be taking it easy they need to be giving you a break they need to understand pregnancy aint easy

it’s a joke as my boss’ wife is due like 3 weeks after me so you’d think he’d get it!
I’m sorry you’re having such a shitty time! I honestly thought as you’re NHS they’d look after you better! Makes me so angry hearing that! I’m so sorry xx

Hi Leah. So sorry you're going through this. I can relate unfortunately, works been getting really stressful for me too that I had to take last week off.
Even while off my boss has continued to ask me for extra work!

so true! I was starting at 5am then 3am for 2 weeks before Christmas when I was 6 month pregnant and I was Exhaused and kept getting told “go to bed earlier you can’t be yawning like this you need to set an example” and I was like I’m literally in bed at 6pm I’m just physically and mentally exhausted!! It’s shocking
