When should I tell my boss I’m pregnant?

I would only tell them if there's a health and safety risk for you (physical stuff you might be better off not doing), or if you're really struggling with morning sickness etc. Otherwise tell them when you want to!

I chose to tell them straight away, and thank god I did. I got really horrible morning sickness that resulted in my needing meds off the gp. There's no way I'd have got away with the time off I took if I hadn't said anything.

The latest you have to tell them by is when you are 25 weeks. I told mine straight away with my second & I'm glad I did, as the morning sickness really affected me this time x

I was a teacher in a special needs school when I fell pregnant and I told my boss very early on as I wanted my risk assessment done early to protect me and my baby. You should be exempt from any physical interventions and they should make it clear how you will be protected if a child becomes dysregulated. I also wanted to wait, but the safety of my unborn child was more important!

I told my manager when I was 8 weeks pregnant. I couldn’t really hide it, I had nausea and started bleeding so ended up needing some scans so he figured something was up. I actually felt a hundred times better for telling him though because he was so accommodating to my needs, not over burdening me with work, letting me start later if I was tired, giving me extended lunch breaks etc! If you feel comfortable would definitely recommend telling your work sooner than later so that they can figure a way to make it easier for you instead of you struggling through
