Fit to fly note

Hi girls x

Just wondering as my midwife said that you’re not able to get your fit to fly by gp anymore? Where did you get yours from?
It’s literally a form that Ryanair have on the website that need to be signed by midwife or a doctor

I had to get a lot of these as I travel alot for work. The midwife put the request in to the GP for me and confirmed everything. The GP secretary then wrote it up. I had to pay £20 each time. Worth calling the gp and speaking with the secretary to arrange it x

My midwife basically said “get it online” which I find very weird, I’m gonna ask tomorrow thank you x

Hey I had to pay £20 each time.
Call the GP or put a request in online via doctors x

I had an issue 2 months ago as I was flying at 29 weeks pregnant to Crete - pre booked before I fell pregnant. It depends on your surgery. My surgery didn’t want to get sued and didn’t offer this service even if you paid them. They tried to tell me to go and get it signed off privately with a private doc. Even they wouldn’t write me a fit note, I tried asking the mid wives at hospital, but they declined too. At the end, I got it signed off last min with my community mid wife. Never been so stressed! Good luck x

I just wanted to throw in the comments to say EasyJet doesn't require a fit to fly form :) their policy states they're not allowed to ask as it's confidential 😊 so if anyone's flying with them no need to go on the hunt!

Unfortunately it’s Ryanair:(

Avatar

@Luiza how odd that they're still requesting these in 2023 considering medical information is technically confidential

Avatar

Technically you have to have it after 28 weeks pregnant and I’m gonna be 28+1 while travelling:(

Rotschild surgery x they said to me to contact the midwife and my midwife said they dont do it and i have to go private

I’m currently on holiday now and travelled at 28 weeks - my midwife did mine but no one asked to see it on the way out here x

You will be able to get it online through a private doctor which I was willing to do but it’s about £40

I traveled alot during my pregnancy up until 37 weeks and never did i have to carry any note or got asked for one

Avatar

did you use Ryanair? :)

Avatar

I got mine at 32-33 weeks from updoc for £40 I think it was. Didn’t actually need it as flying easy jet but wanted it incase something happened and insurance could claim I would have been rejected had I asked for one. Also I know you didn’t ask but I found loads of insurance had in their small print they wouldn’t cover me for things pregnancy related - Aviva travel insurance has no pregnancy stipulations no matter how far into your pregnancy you are :)

I paid £25 at my GP

Is this normal?

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)
Thank you in advance! 🥰

Anyone else felt like this?

Hi, I’m 4 months postpartum, little one sleeps through the night and is formula fed, the last week I’ve felt extremely tired and very hungry! Just wondered if anyone else has felt this way/experienced this?

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?
