I don’t think you can buy to early. Especially after your 12 week scan.
This is my 3rd baby so I didn’t need as much this time but I’ve got her more new clothes and double pushchair car seat cot bottles dummy’s ect and everythings ready now.
I had all stuff early with other too aswell.
Buy as early/ late as you prefer just aslong as it’s here when baby is xxx

Iv started to buy some clothes since my first scan, I’m now 20weeks and haven’t got anything else I’m waiting till my gender scan next week and will start buying everything we need
I didn’t want to rush into buying stuff too soon but I think we have plenty of time x

I bought things before I got pregnant🤣 but it was apart of then announcement to my partner.
I’ve got a couple onesies but nothing big as we don’t know what we’re having yet. I’m 19 weeks on Sunday

I’m a bit superstitious about it and haven’t got anything yet (I’m 17+1). I think I’ll maybe start after anatomy scan at 20wks. I haven’t announced to everyone yet either, it’s my person preference 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think it’s up to you when you feel comfortable and that it’s right.

I’ve bought the small bits like clothes etc but the bigger bits I’ll get in around November xx

I’ve just turned 18 weeks.
I’ve got pretty much all of the toiletries side of things (bath, creams, nappies and baby wipes)

Also have the next 2 me and have something clothing, muslins and bits and piece like that.

We’ve only done it this way to cut down the cost through getting small bits every other week 🤍

I think it’s a really personal choice and there’s no right or wrong answer. Some people will go into it really optimistically and some people very cautiously but that’s usually down to previous experiences, statistics etc. in my 5 previous pregnancies I bought a little onesie or bib or something and then they were all lost before 12 weeks. Even now at 17 weeks with a ivf embryo we spent 2k genetically testing 🥴 I’m still terrified something could go wrong so I’m much more cautious and anxious. Plus I know a lot of ppl who have had losses between 20 and 40 weeks (uk stillbirth rate is 1 in 250 pregnancies) so I personally think I’ll feel exceptionally nervous all through this pregnancy even when buying furniture much later than some others do. But also I know that some people buy furniture etc very early on and everything is absolutely fine. It’s something you can’t always predict so just do whatever makes you comfortable rather than what you feel you maybe should do x

Didn’t buy anything apart from one outfit until 16 weeks, as soon as found out the gender I started buying more. Only clothes tho, but feel like I wanna make a start on ‘proper’ things soon x

I'm 19 weeks tomorrow and have only brought 3 things, a teddy, baby grow and some bottles as my friend works at boots and gets amazing deals 😅 but Im off to the baby and toddler event by MAM in November and want to see everything before I decide, but if I see something I like I'm not stopping myself 😊

I feel absolutely the same as you, I’m almost 21w and still don’t feel “safe” to go shopping! Unlike what people think, the 12w scan is not a cast iron guarantee of things being 100% alright, sadly. Better be safe than sorry! 😊

I started buying clothes on the way home from my 12 week scan 🤣 I have since been picking up other bits as and when I see them as sometimes you can get a bargain! I got a Tommee Tippee microwave steriliser in Aldi the other for half price!

exactly! It may be pessimistic but it’s life a self preservation thing.

I started at 5 weeks 🙈
Ordered our pram at 13 weeks, and will be having it delivered at 37 weeks.

Ultimately, I know there is no ‘safe time’, my partners daughter was still born around her due date… but I don’t want everything to be a mad rush when baby is born. So I started early. And I think, if worst came to worst we could save what we’ve bought anyway.

We got our first clothing item for baby after our 12 weeks scan as I was just too excited. We’ve since been given quite a lot by friends and family. We got our pram at 18 weeks because it was on offer at a steal price so we couldn’t say no. We’re planning on getting nursery stuff around end of October/November time 😃

18 weeks and haven't bought anythin yet. But I'm excited to start shopping soon 😊💙
