Maternity clothes or a size up?

Hi everyone. I am expecting my first baby and I have no idea what clothes to wear/buy. I am a size 8, and I feel maternity clothes will be too big for me. Can you get away with going sizes up? TIA xx

Sizing up would be fine for now, but when you get bigger even sizing up the waist band isn’t in the right place for like jeans and leggings etc I feel for how bump actually can get especially in 3rd trimester xx

I tried sizing up and was a total waste of time. I went straight for maternity clothes in my usual size. As luckily I've only gained weight on the bump and nowhere else so sizing up just didn't work but maternity works perfectly xx

You should be able to get maternity clothes in your size 👍 they fit so much better and I find they actually make you look pregnant instead of just frumpy as I found when sizing up 😂😂

Also a size 8, 17 weeks pregnant. I have had to give in and buy maternity jeans. They are a little big still but they are so much more comfortable. Otherwise I am just in non maternity smock dresses for work which I'm hoping will see me through most of my pregnancy. We're lucky in that we're pregnant over winter so lots of oversized jumpers! Having looked at maternity wear, there's not a great amount of choice imo and I think they charge more because its maternity. You might be able to find stuff on vinted or ebay but I haven't found anything I like yet.

I am 18 weeks and just got my first pair of maternity jeans from H n M and they are so so amazing and comfortable. For rest of the stuff just sized up

George at Asda maternity leggings are SO comfortable! £14 for 2 pairs aswell reall good value for money!

I’ve always worn baggy shirts so my normal clothes are just fitting now. But I’ll prob just buy normal clothes bigger sizes xx
