I work in care and my job is offering covid boosters next week and I'll be 29 weeks when that happens. Should I go for it? Anyone else had a booster done since being pregnant?

I got given one when I went for my whooping cough jab (didn’t tell me until afterwards) so they might offer you one then anyway (if you haven’t had it yet!). They say you’re more likely to be more affected by covid if you’re pregnant. I still ended up getting covid three weeks afterwards but wasn’t as poorly. Just rode it out at home xx

I had the original two jabs while pregnant and the original booster while breastfeeding. I have a healthy 2 year old. The data for safety in pregnancy is really strong - the NHS and JCVI are cautious about their pregnancy advice. The data for covid in your third trimester suggests you’ll likely be fine but you do have more chance of being hospitalised and your baby being born pre term.
I’ve got my booster booked in and will be 30 weeks when I have it.

I spoke to my midwife about this because i’m a nurse and will be offered it through work, but also they confirmed end of last week that being pregnant your on the high risk group anyways so will be offered it.
I did some reading as I was unsure myself and its highly recommended by the royal college of obs and gynae, due to the pressure on your lungs already your more likely to be affected and also by having it pregnant it provides baby with protection when they are born for approx 6 months when they’re most vulnerable.
I’ll be having mine now x
