How many have you got left?x

Are these the blood thinner injections? I hated them too and had to do them myself as nobody else could help me with them. Literally counted down the days to when they finished. I’d definitely complete them though as they are usually prescribed for a reason. Stay strong! Soon as they are done you’ll be relieved. Good luck ♥️

Please don't stop them. My friend stopped and ended up with a blood clot that already to her lungs. She then had a cardiac arrest at 22 and her kids almost lose their mum x

I was covered in bruises but please do not stop taking them! Have you got someone who can do them for you? X

I have a blood clotting disorder so I had to take the blood thinning injections from the day I found out I was pregnant till six weeks after I gave birth. Across my two pregnancies I took around 600 of them.
Yes it sucked but I was not going to risk having a blood clot. I used to sit still for a bit after the injection. I found that reduced the bruising.
about 6

And how many have you done? Maybe for the last ones, go to the pharmacy and ask for a numbing cream! It helped me so so much. I unfortunately had to do 42 and they made me cry almost everyday. After I got the numbing cream.. it helped so much x
oh no! I missed two as one was forgotton and the other didnt go in properly. Do you think this will be ok?

It’s just horrendous isn’t it :( but please please please don’t stop them.
My Husband did them for me if you have someone who can help x

Excuse my ignorance but what are these for?

blood thinning ones after a surgery, prevents blood clots x

Have you got them for 6 weeks like I did?
I gave up 4 days early because it was agonising
... but I found squeezing as hard as I can whilst my partner injected me helped. I didn't feel it at all. The further out I went on my stomach it really stung though, maybe try getting a little closer to the belly button but staying the distance needed.
If you have over a week left I'd keep doing them though x

Please dont stop taking them, you can alternate from Thighs, lower stomach and upper arms. I had those Tinzaparin injections too after birth, I had twins, one normal delivery and one c-section and got my sister or myself when she wasn’t around to administer them. You have 6 left, your almost done.. hang in there! Xx
my sister had them for 6 weeks but they only gave me 10 of them to do at home and they done one for me ( was supposed to do two) I dont understand why. I already missed two as one didnt go in my belly and i didnt want to then use the same needle again & one the hospital forgot to give me. Im worried now
i only got given about 12/13 not sure why x

I stopped taking mine but I was quite active after my c section and they said it was more if I was ‘bed bound’ but I kept doing them until I couldn’t deal it anymore, I’ve scarred myself too where I did two wrong 😩

I had these injections from when I was 26 weeks pregnant up until the 10 days were finished, it was awful. but you have to finish them as they are prescribed to stop blood clots. stay strong xx

I had ten and did 6/7

You’re half way 😊 honestly.. (not sure if you’re from the UK) but go to your pharmacy tomorrow and ask for Emla. Apply a blob an hour before you’re due to do it and put a plaster over it so it soaks in.. you cannot feel it go in at all. Still stings a bit once the solution comes out but it helped me so much x
I dont mind it going in, its just the stinging that kills me its so painful. Maybe ive just got a low pain tolerance. I might pop in the pharmacy and see if they have it. Thank you xx
ive done a few wrong . I keep forgetting to pinch aswell. guessing im going to be full of scars. I only do them on my thigh. Im not bed bound imnconstantly moving around

I know what you mean! I found just below my belly button.. and about 2 inches to either left or right was the best area. I tried in my leg once and I found that worse. Sometimes I did it really slowly and sorta paused a bit in between. Hope that helps 🙏🏼 x

If you can persevere with it I would. I couldn’t hack it they told me to do it in my belly as that was my ‘fatty’ area. Scars fade anyway hun 💕 bit of bio oil over time if your worried will help ease them off. But I just kept moving and i was quite lucky that I had no clots xx

I found it hard too but I put ice on my leg and then did the injection and honestly couldn’t feel it xx

what are the injections? i’m a FTM sue Oct 18, with a c section scheduled for either the 11/12/13th and i had no idea about any injections?? i’m in the US if it matters 😬🤯

I hated them it was the worst part of my day, so painful, I wonder if you can contact your gp and they can do them for you? I felt like not taking them too x

the injections are anticoagulants used for the treatment of deep vein thrombosis a condition in which harmful blood clots form in the blood vessels of the legs

so everyone who has a c section needs to do the injections? 😮

everyone I’ve spoken too has - I think because it’s major surgery

Definitely don’t miss those, had only 5 days with first but 6 weeks with second. I definitely missed some. For the most part my partner was doing and stung like hell. Then he went away and I had to do myself and was much less pain wish I’d done it all along. Just a big hard squeeze on a juicy bit of thigh.

the midwives at the hospital I was at said everyone has them to help prevent clots after the surgery. But some have them for 10 days and some have them for 6 weeks, I'm not sure how they decide how long you have them for. I think it's on BMI and ability

I had no idea!! Sounds horrendous so not sure an elective c section is for me 😕

I’m nearly 10 months PP hun and I’m still on them, you can do it I know it sucks!! I find pulling the skin out and not doing it in bright bright light helps, I know that sounds weird but when you can’t quite clearly see the needle in there it plays less tricks on the mind xxx

I’m in Canada, we don’t have these injections, and I just had my second c section 3 weeks ago. so I’m assuming it’s based on your location

I stopped giving myself them after 2 weeks because I dreaded it too.

Are they subcut injections?
I was told mine are going to be subcut so I'm not worried as am used to those

Blood clots are incredibly dangerous. I know it sucks but know it’s temporary and not something you have to do forever or for an extended period of time. It’s not worth the risk.

Also didnt have them last c section, was fine. Case by case really, they can assess your risk and need for them

nothing to do with BMI or ability :) depends on how your surgery went/risks after x

they can assess whether or not you need, it's not about ability or bmi, I was super underweight and am disabled but had none, this time its been suggested though

it's done on a risk factor basis. So BMI, age, clotting factors etc x

mine was purely on my BMI

oh fair enough, hadn’t ever heard of it to do with BMI.. I guess that’s considered a ‘risk’ so makes sense :)
