progesterone

I've read on Tommy's miscarriage support that taking progesterone can help reduce your risk of miscarriage in early pregnancy. I can't see where to get it though. Has anyone tried it? Did you have to get it prescribed or can you buy it?

I was looking up this topic as well! I been checking everywhere on where I could buy like some supplements but I haven’t found anything. I think you need to get it prescribed

It's only recommended if you've had a previous miscarriage and have bleeding in this pregnancy. Otherwise it hasn't been shown to be of any benefit unless you've had IVF. XX

I'll let you know if I find anything.

More research is definitely needed. In the meantime eating foods like nuts, dark chocolate, leafy greens etc that are naturally rich in it can't do any harm. Especially as when the bleeding starts may be too late.

Hope this is helpful. It summarises the research that was done in the PRISM trial. X

I went through Tommys clinic after two miscarriages and got prescribed progesterone and I’m now 25 weeks. We had to go back to the hospital to collect as GPS are unable to prescribe

Thanks both, that's a good article.
I'm on the waiting list for Tommy's so hopefully they'll help but I've been warned not to expect an appointment anytime soon.

Also congratulations on getting to 25 weeks. Glad it's working for you.
