I had a pretty horrible PPH (post partum hemorrhage) with my first, I have an appointment booked with a consultant as I’m down as high risk now. In that appointment I’m thinking I want to ask for a C-section due to the trauma of the last birth! If anyone has had a similar experience it would be great to know whether you had a vaginal birth after a previous PPH and you were fine (or if it happened again) or if you opted for a C-section. Part of me is worried about the recovery of the section but also needing to have multiple blood transfusions and not holding my baby after I had him for 6 hours isn’t something I want to go through again

I had a pph with my first, my second delivery was vaginal and it was perfectly fine in terms of bleeding x

I had an elective c section with my first due to personal reasons and honestly it was a great experience recovery wasn’t too bad either the first week was hard but after that I felt great! As long as you stay on top of pain meds and don’t overdo stuff like lifting your recovery would be fine

I had very heavy bleeding with my first, didn’t need transfusion though. My baby was also IUGR so delivery was very stressful as her heart heart dropped with each strong contraction.
Now second pregnancy considerate high risk. I am going for vaginal birthday again and hope I don’t get into emergency C-section. I am not considering planned C-section.

You got this! 💪🏽

Hello. What did you decide on this? In similar position x
hey, I decided to go for a c section. Best decision I made, the whole experience was calm and the recovery isn’t half as bad as I expected. I was able to go down to just paracetamol on day 5 and now I’m 2 weeks PP, I still take it very very easy no long walks etc heavy lifting the usual recommendations but I feel good. Good luck on your decision! X
