Not sure about my midwife

I really don’t like my midwife. Whenever I bring something up to her that I’m worried about in pregnancy she doesn’t seem to care, she literally brushes it off and this makes me sad. I was wondering if anyone on here has asked for a different midwife as I’m really tempted to but I just don’t know how to go about it ☹️

My friend asked for a different midwife when she was pregnant, her midwife wasn’t very supportive. So do what’s best for you x

I’ve had an awful experience with midwives. I was given a temporary one for first few appointments, had 2 appointments with mr actual midwife and my last she let me know as I was there to see her that she was on annual leave & she’s now retired and I’ve not been given another midwife yet! Everytime I text her about things I was worried about she brushed it off.
Definitely recommend pushing for another midwife, this is such a scary nerve wracking time and we deserve to have a medical support system, that’s what they’re there for! Xx

Following from that, call triage if you’re worried about something urgently, I’ve found them to be extremely helpful!

I've never seen the same midwife twice! I haven't been assigned a midwife or anything, it was the same with my first baby 9yrs ago too. When I get to the appointment, u get seen by whoever is free. Interesting how different hospital trusts work, because the lady I work with is under a different hospital trust and she has a midwife, who she can text to arrange appts!

I hated the midwife I had in the beginning I asked at the reception where I sign in for the checks to not have her anymore so they put a note in my documents and was given someone else

Same goes with me .
That's why I changed my hospital.
I registered myself in 21 weeks in another hospital. As far as I remember it was written online that before 24 weeks you can change your midwife / Hospital.

Yeah the community midwife is a bit like that! I leave annoyed every time, there is an assistant in with her and she is much easier to get along with! I find all the ones in the hospital so far to be great! Xx
