Buying family Christmas gifts

Hi! I’m due on Christmas Eve so I’m in baby prep mode, not present buying mode like usual 😆 Are you planning on buying presents for family and friends this year or just hoping they understand that you won’t be? I don’t want people to feel left out or unappreciated but I’m also stressed about being able to afford presents for everyone. What are your plans? 😊

I’m not going to. I don’t have the mental space for it and I’m trying to save money. Pregnancy is a time when you just have to do what’s right for you and look after yourself. I’m sure people will understand.

I’ll be buying gifts for our three older children and my nephew. I’m due on Boxing Day. Amazon will be my best friend.

I'm due 22nd Dec and not buying anything! Won't even put decorations up this year. It's one of the advantages of being due at Christmas 😂
It's actually how I broke the news of my pregnancy to my family.. they live 200 miles away so I said "I won't be visiting this Christmas because I'll be a little busy having a baby".

I’m due 10th & I’ve already told my fiancé I’m not doing any Xmas shopping this year, I can’t even deal with the thought of doing it let alone sitting on the floor & wrapping everything up. We have such a big family between us so there’s around 20 odd people to buy for & I just don’t have the mental capacity for it 😂 I’ll put my Xmas decs up they always go up 1st december & plus my birthday is 18th & I always have a tree for my birthday so can’t break that tradition 🤣

Only small things for my niece and nephew and my younger sister. Everyone else will just get a call :)

Due on the 4th so a little earlier! We’ve brought a bill of photo frames and everyone will get a baby picture of their first cuddle! Probs a bit late and not wrapped 😂

I’m due Christmas Day 🤣 I’ve taken my maternity a bit earlier going mid November as I know although I say I won’t give presents I love wrapping, buying and gift giving so least by going a bit early I can do this with as little stress as possible, least people will understand it will only be little gifts this year and the following years especially if my baby comes on Xmas day 🤣

I'm just buying everything online this year I'm not putting myself through it when I'm due on the 14th and everyone should understand that 🤣

I’m due 11th and we have already told family(the adults) we won’t be able to get anything this year😔 we just simply can’t afford to with still trying to get baby stuff in. Although we will be obviously buying for my oldest little boy(18 months- come Xmas) x2 nieces & nephew and my best friends little girl. So just the kids, and I think everyone is quite understanding.❤️xx

I’m buying gifts for step son and both nieces but this year round that’s all, I would say I’m generous with gifts every year for family but made the decision to only buy for the kids especially as I’m due 18th December and my step son turns 18 on the 20th and one of my nieces birthday is also the 18th December so I’m sure everyone will understand for the sake of a year 🤞. Maybe just hand out some wine and beer gifts so I don’t feel too guilty x

I am love Christmas! Just buying earlier 🥰😌🎄

We all agreed ages ago to stop buying presents for adults so Christmas is just for the kids and cousins. Unless it is something specific or personal, maybe something edible to share on the day. Other than that we all agreed not to pressure each other into buying things.
