Am I being mean?

I was my now ex partner for 2 years and we've a gorgeous baby that was born this year.
He basically stoppedworking since January this year and just basically sleeps, eats and hangs in his room all day. He stopped paying bills 5 months ago so I've been supporting the household for a year from my savings. The relationship is more than dead and neither of us want to be together, he's just staying because he has a free roof, food and doesn't have to do nothing for anyone, and I've been tolerating this situation for my baby's sake. My savings just ended and I've found a more affordable place. My head is to not take him with me and to sort out the custody for my child. Of course he will be able to see his child whenever he wants to but I'm just thinking if I'm being mean since he's penniless? Tia

Why does he not work and support his family? It sounds like he needs a big reality check

No you’re not being mean and you’re doing what’s best for you and baby’s mental health and future. You don’t need someone using you like this especially when you have a kid. I think you’re going in the right direction because I would do the same especially if after talks there’s nothing or if there are no talks at all. If he’s just doing him then you do you ♥️

Maybe he hasn’t transitioned to parenthood but he’s an adult now so he needs to figure it out. Although some people might need a kick.

Because I don’t know you guys as people, i will always suggest talking about it and see if he agrees to make adjustments but if not, then you have your answer. Good luck!

Okay first of all Queen, what made u think it was okay for him to stay in the first place with him not paying bills? Are you raising 2 kids or one? Cause to me he’s definitely not a man. Second of all gorgeous, why would u touch ur savings account? U could have had a great home for u and ur baby! Third of all beautiful, KNOW UR WORTH! Do not think about whether he should go with u guys or not. Definitely kick him out! If he wants to be a father he’d make the effort to be. I almost went through the same situation with my partner now and he’s stepped up knowing his mistakes. No.. just no.. kick him out and let him figure shit out for himself while u get custody of ur baby. U guys deserve better. I know it’s nice to think that u guys being together would make the baby happy but it won’t last especially since it’s mostly affecting ur mental & financial health more than the baby’s mental health.

No, your not being mean. He has to get a job and get his own place. When you move, don’t let him back in.

It's not being mean to not continue to support a partner who isn't being a partner and contributing to the household.
