MRSA while pregnant?
This is far fetched but has anyone had MRSA while pregnant? I had a small bump that turned into a full abscess/boil and cultured as MRSA. I’ve done antibiotics now for 7 days and started topical antibiotics. I was worried about baby at first as I’m still in first trimester, but less worried about that now after a few scans- baby is growing fast and has a healthy heartbeat.
I’m more worried that the MRSA will resist antibiotics or come back after I finish topicals. My derm has been scaring me saying it’s terribly hard to get rid of etc etc. nothing on google has any info/positive stories about pregnancy and MRSA clearing up. Anyone hear experienced this or know of anyone who has? Thank you.

I had the initial surgery in April. Had hardware removed Jul 17th in a second surgery. Surgery never healed. Got pregnant August 25th. Went back to schedule a third surgery since it wasn't healing, found out I was pregnant, surgery was pushed to the second trimester. Had the surgery in December. I pushed for a wound culture in October, I'm not sure how long I'd had MRSA but I suspect since April.

Yes, it was a saga but once I got amoxicillin it went away. Good luck 🍀
