Aptamil Pepti 1

Hey,
So my little girl has just been put on Aptamil Pepti 1 (last night). She has been showing some signs of cows milk allergy so we are giving it a go to see if it settles her. I’ve been reading online about this formula today and I’m getting mixed reviews but mostly negative. Anyone got any positive stories about their LO’s being put on Aptamil Pepti 1?

Ours has been on Pepti 1 since 7 weeks and it made such a big difference. She was a totally different baby!! We still had some change over issues and had to use colief drops in the milk for a few months but otherwise it’s made a massive difference. It does make burps and nappies more stinky… like next level smell and the consistency is much thinner/ more oily almost than normal so some babies get more reflux from it but it definitely did help us and LO is really thriving on it. Only one thing I would say is make sure you order your repeats well in advance as they often have stock issues where we are so we have asked for 4 tubs at a time and get a repeat when we start the 2nd last! More so for the Pepti 2 and we also live in a smaller town but there have been nationwide supply issues at times and it’s definitely a stress you don’t want!!!

Oh that makes me feel so much better! There seem to be a lot of negative stories online about it. They’ve given us a prescription of four tubs already which I was shocked at! I did notice that the milk stinks so dread to think what the poos will be like 😂 x

My 3rd was on this. Made a huge difference and he was so settled. Takes them a while to get used to as it would if you changed their milk to any other. But overall it was a lifesaver. I agree with the above, get your orders in well in advance and if you struggle getting a repeat remember you can call 111 and the can do electronic prescription sent to pharmacies if you need it fast. Mine took this alongside gaviscon for silent reflux xx

Oh brilliant! She’s had one bottle of it today and she seems so settled off it. Not sure if that’s just fluke as it’s only her first bottle but I’ve actually been able to put her down and she’s settled for a nap for longer than half an hour! Xx

We noticed a difference really quickly but it does take a few weeks to totally settle in it and watch out for the green poos- that freaked me out but it does settle!! We found LO took awhile to start drinking large amounts of it though but think that was because she was used to the milk making her uncomfortable.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Baby with chronic congestion

Hi everyone! My 1 year has been a congested baby since birth almost. She breathes through her mouth so often that it wakes her up multiple times at night and she cries and screams and then struggles to go back to sleep. She wakes up every 1-3 hours and sometimes can’t go back to sleep for 2-3 hours!!! Piriton is the only thing that seems to help her sleep mostly through the night but I can’t keep giving her that!!
Does anyone have tips as to have I can do or give her? Has anyone experienced? I have no idea when I’ll get an ENT appointment and I have no idea what he can give a 13 mo :( we are desperate for sleep so any tips are welcome!! We have tried steam inhalation, saline drops, vapour rubs and everything off the counter basically!

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?
