Legal help?

My boyfriend and I are fight so much over everything.

I want to leave Florida. I have a mom friend in another state willing to help me if I move up with her.

My boyfriend doesn’t want to move. He barely helps. He doesn’t pay my bills. He doesn’t pay for daycare. I buy everything. Unless asked, he doesn’t “think about it”.

He says he’ll take me to court if I leave. He says he’ll report me for kidnapping.

We’re not married. He’s been to maybe 2-3 appointments for our son. I set up his insurance, his appointments, I signed all the paperwork for daycare. I’ve done everything.

I’m drowning down here with the amount of responsibilities and lack of help. I don’t want to abandon my son to him because he already can’t do anything without instructions.

Our son is one and everything is just so stressful down here.

He can take you to court, but he can’t “report you for kidnapping” lol let him try and they will laugh at him. If you tell him where you’re going, he has an address, you’re not kidnapping

Is his name on the birth certificate? Cause if it's not then I don't think he has any rights whatsoever.

There’s no custody order already open or even pending, so there wouldn’t be a problem with you leaving. They always threaten court, but if he does nothing, you really think he’s gonna spend his money on a lawyer and everything else? I highly doubt it

Is he on the birth certificate even?

Avatar

Yea he’s on the birth certificate. He’s a resident too. Not a citizen. I told him to go ahead and take me to court. And to tell them he doesn’t have a reliable vehicle that’s safe for our son. That he doesn’t know how to schedule drs appointments or how to sign up for insurance or whatever.

Leave.

If he call to report a "kidnapping" it would only look in your favor.

If you dont feel safe you ar protecting your child.

You are not obligated to stay with that man.

Walk into dhs with baby and ask for help separating.

If he didn't sign the birth certificate, you don't need to mention his name, answer his phone calls or deal with his lack of help anymore.

It's okay to leave.

I’ve been going through ppd, ppa, and now ppr. From the lack of help. I’m on meds, I’ve signed up for therapy. I’m trying to hold on everyday.

There’s a 3 year age gap. He’s younger. I’m older. I’m the oldest and he’s the youngest in his family. He’s also the only male. I feel like I’ve been patient with the learning curve of how to be a parent. But I’m exhausted with having to hand feed him everything. He’s not a bad dad or a negligent parent. He just has no common sense. And it’s frustrating.

I put my son in daycare after he turned one. Because he’s just now going to daycare, he gets sick regularly. We’ve had hfnm, pneumonia, and now bronchitis. I had to handle my toddler alone with breathing treatments and medications, because he said I could handle it. But he said I was being dramatic every time I wanted a 2nd opinion because I didn’t like how he was breathing or acting, which turns out I was right.

But now it’s I’m “money hungry” for his checks because I’m not able to work when our son is sick, I would just pay it back when I can go back to work.
