@Morgan, it's Vaginal Birth After C-section

@Mabel If I ever have another baby, that would be my goal. Unfortunately, I would have to go out of town since my town doesn't do VABC.

So lovely to see both 🥰

It was HARD
My cervix wasn’t favourable to start off with especially when I had never went in Labor with my first it was an elective,
So first of all my cervix was posterior and closed had the balloon induction and they did have to force it in me which was very painful it did fall out within the 24 hours so they was able to pop my waters however it did take four attempts as I was still posterier and that was the most painful thing iv ever ever ever experienced but I didn’t give up cos I was desperate for a vbac, got given two hours to see if I would Labor myself and ofc I did not so they put me on the drip, very quickly got contractions and went to 3cm however I did stall and wasn’t progressing so they suggested a c section but I kept falling asleep and I had a high heart rate and was very dehydrated and the baby wasn’t showing any signs of distress so they let me sleep before making the decision (I had epideral) and thank god they let me rest before making the decision if I wanted

A c section or not because 3 hours later I started the bleed the doctor come in and he says I’m fully dilated and ready to push! 40 mins later he was out! I did have second degree tear and I was offered blood transfusion and was very dehydrated that I had to have 4 drips but was all worth it because I finally got to have the experience of a vaginal birth and the healing is amazing compared to c section recovery.

How old was your little one when you fell pregnant?
I had a c sec 1st pregnancy and fell pregnant 8 months after.. my doctor said for sure another c sec unless it would have been like 4 years apart 🤦🏻‍♀️

Avatar

Congratulations!! I got my vbac 2 weeks ago with a 15 month old gap! I had a 3rd degree tear but like you said the recovery has been amazing compared to my emergency c section last time 👏🥰 xx

Avatar

@Kat I've heard this from other people but I was just under 6 months when I found out and they let me go natural xx

Avatar

hi, can I ask why you choose elective first time round and now vaginal, if you don’t mind! And why you needed the blood transfusion?

Avatar

5 months xx

Avatar

my consultant wanted me to as my first was measuring big and iron levels xx

Avatar

Aww congratulations!! This is so lovely to read, I’m hoping for a VBAC and will be 15 months between mine ☺️x

This is fantastic very happy for you, congratulations! I'm so desperate for a natural delivery(VBAC) but I've just been told by consultant that I will need another c section, I've had 2 already. I'm not sure what to do.

Avatar

my consultant only gave me the option for a c section ! So I asked for a different consultant and rang up the hospital I was going to give birth in and they was supportive honestly it was so stressful getting someone to agree to let me have a vbac honestly but request a different consultant you can do it best thing I did

Avatar

Wow well done for sticking with it . 👏 glad you got another opinion. I might try get a doula to help support me.

That’s amazing to hear. I am pregnant with second baby and I have emergency c section for my first: my little one is 17 months right now and I am 5 and a half months pregnant. Really hoping with vbac can’t do another ceserian

Is this normal?

Is this little red bit on my section scar normal? It’s not oozing anything, doesn’t hurt but it’s the only bit on my scar like it so just curious! (19 days PP)
Thank you in advance! 🥰

Help

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

Is this braxton hicks or early labour pains?

Labour??

I’ve had on/off mild period cramps since 9 last night, very irregular and very mild, but I just had one that woke me up. My waters haven’t gone and nor has my mucous plug… but could this be a sign that it’s close?! I’m 40+3 and desperate to meet her!

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?
