Okay moms I need you help! Ever since my kids started school they have been none stop sick. My mom ended up getting strep and my daughter had a cold. They were both getting better and now with the weather changing they both have cold again with a terrible cough. I’ve been arguing with their step mom because she’s trying to say I’m not doing anything to make them better. But the thing is they have both been to dr twice and I’m just told to give cough medicine and make sure they get fluids and rest. But they aren’t getting better because I’m the only one who keeps up with the medicine. When they are with their father my son has aready told me they don’t any type of cough medicine to help or anything. My question is what are y’all doing to help with colds!

My LOs at nursery and brings us back a new bug every week. It's kids, they pick things up and bring things home. End of. They don't need antibiotics for every little cough. Infact that's why we are in a state of having resistant strains, becauseol of over prescribing. Tell the stepmom to do one.

Apart from cough medicine and calpol, vapour rub etc there isn't much you can do for a cold. Unless it's a bacterial infection like tonsillitis etc you won't be given antibiotics for viral infections like a cough, cold, flu, and sore throats as they won't do anything for it.
Tell the step mum to get some calpol or cough medicine and help them when they are there by keeping up with that to help get rid of it
