My 16 month old boy isn’t clapping or pointing. He doesn’t say words but babbles a lot and sometimes says dada mmmumma or baby. He doesn’t always respond to his name. He was walking at 14 months. Very happy jolly and very very confident in walking and climbing. He climbs stairs quickly and sofas he engages in peek a boo and other games. He has had a pacifier since birth so I’m not sure if that could be a reason behind his speech delay. He sometimes understands the word no.
I am scared he is showing signs of autism..
Am I being paranoid?

I honestly wouldn’t worry all babies develop differently he will do things in his own time my son is 20 months and he’s the same he walks and says mumma dadda he says yeah now also but babbles a lot. He’s never had a dummy so I don’t think that would be the reason. Also my son understands words like yes and no. All children are different I wouldn’t worry xx

my baby also hasnt clap yet she is 12 months

They are all different. Mine is the other way around, 11 months, not crawling, can't pull self up, sits well but can't transition from laying to sitting. But really good at communication, first word at 7 months, has a couple, understands several words, some sign language, waves.
The health visitor said they tend to focus on one or two areas and fall behind in another: communication, fine motor skills or gross motor. Sounds like yours focused on movement first.

My son learned how to walk at 10 months, clap around 12 months, pointing at 18 months and is just does extremely well with physical stuff like climbing but still doesn’t talk :( he can only say uh oh, all done and he just started saying hello and waving last week. He just turned 19 months. I had a gut feeling months ago that he might’ve had autism or a speech delay but no one listened to me and told me he’s too young to worry about it but now his pediatrician agrees and is setting us up for early intervention for possible speech delay.
Autism is a combination of things and requires some time to diagnose. I wouldn’t worry about autism because from the sounds of it he isn’t too behind on motor skills just maybe speech. Talk to your doctor at his 18 month appointment. Keep reading books, pointing at things to show him and making sounds for animals and toys.
we watch Miss Rachel in morning and I sing along to songs, I tell him stories everyday for he goes to as well
