Any advice on how to explain a breakup and what life if going to look like now to young children?
I can’t warn my children ahead of time, because they may say something and have been advised it best to go without telling the dad, due to the nature of our relationship.
Has anyone had any experience of this? How did the kids react? What worked well to reassure them?
Kids are 5 and 2. The oldest will have to move schools. Thank you.

I’ve never experienced it myself however my step sister and her husband have 2 kids together I remember her saying that she found it very important to reassure they will always be loved and to just be honest but gentle
