Hey!
Just wondering if anyone is in the same situation? Baby is feet first! Kicking me in the hips, head butting me in the ribs. He hasn’t much space as I’m only 5ft. It’s safe to say I’m uncomfortable 😣😅.
Midwife said if he’s still breech at 36 weeks, I’ll go for a scan to confirm his actual position and then Ill be offered a section. I’m not up for a manual baby turn, especially cos it’s painful and they can just flip back! I’ve done my hypnobirthing and put in the work so I’m trying to be ok with anything - if he flips, he flips, if he doesn’t, he doesn’t. It is playing on my mind though! I’ve got some positions from spinning babies that I’m trying so we shall see.

Yep! I’m 34+2 and have a scan booked on the 19th to see where he is. Also not up for turning. I hate anyone touching my belly as is and bruise easily from scans so definitely don’t want someone trying to move him 🤢

How do you feel about it all? X

Had a scan on Friday (36 weeks) and my boy is extended breech & we are going to try and turn him on Tuesday xx

34 weeks and breech to . Told to walk and do exercises to turn her

Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 baby turns for you.
I was 34 weeks and baby girl was breech and by 36 weeks she turned without me knowing ! I didn’t do any exercises or anything and somehow she turned by my appointment Xx

My baby has been breech and back to head down numerous times throughout various scans which is apparently quite rare. Even if he does flip to head down, I gather it’s not very reliable he’ll be like that when labour comes. Spinning babies was recommended to me too, plus spending a lot of time on all 4s! At the moment I sense he’s head down which is good.
You’re right with ECVs, they can just turn back and only work in 40% of people. My consultant said that even in successful ECVs these tend to end up in c sections anyway as these babies are just stubborn and weren’t really meant to come out head first!

I’m trying to remain open minded. I’m prepared as I can be for a vaginal birth but if it’s to be a c section, then whatever’s safest for us both I guess. I think just the unpredictability of birth has really hit me today! It’s all so up in the air and out of our control - so tough but just have to (literally at the moment) roll with it! X

I’m 34+4 and baby is breech too. I’ve got a growth scan on Wednesday and they are going to check baby’s position then too but I can tell she’s still breech as her head is in my ribs! I’ve been doing some of the spinning babies exercises - if you type it in on YouTube there’s an easy video to follow. I was also recommended to try Moxibustion by my midwife so I’ve booked that in for Thursday - it’s a type of acupuncture that is supposed to be 60% effective in getting baby to turn and not invasive so I’m personally going to try that before deciding about the ECV. The thought of the ECV scares me to be honest!

it doesn’t really bother me, just going to go with the flow as long as he gets here the safest way possible it doesn’t matter x

I had a scan on Thursday and baby is breech frank position, i have a scan on 18th to see if she has turned if not will make a plan, i will be 36+5 - im not keen on turning so think i will opt against x

My little one has been breech for about 4 weeks or more and I'm nearly 37 weeks now. Got a scan on Friday to check his growth (which is planned to due to him being small), but they will also check his position and if he is still breech then it will be a section. I'm scared either way if I'm honest but if it's the safest option for my little man, then so be it💙😌 xx

Yes me. Mine has been breech since 28 weeks, I’m 37 weeks now! I have a scan tomorrow to check (finally) and if still breech I need to decide if I want an ECV or a section. I’m leaning more towards a section as I too, don’t like the sound of an ECV or the risks attached to it! X

The Surrey & Sussex hospital has a specialist team trained to deliver breech babies. Breech is a version of normal which we used to train our midwives and doctors for and are just starting to again.
