I dated someone with the same name as our baby
In my early 20s (I'm now in my mid 30s), I dated someone called, let's say "Ben" (fake name). We only dated for maybe a month and I totally forgot about him.
Fast forward now and my partner and I both agreed we like the name "Ben" and its likely to be what we call our son.
It then dawned on me that I dated someone with that name and my friends may remember that I did too!
Do you think when I say it they will laugh at me? Would you choose a different name? Would you tell your friends in advance not to say anything to your partner? Would you just say you like the name and it's not related to the guy you dated at all!?

I would let your partner know that you dated someone with that name and see if it changes how they fee about it. If someone lets it slip further down the line you don’t want them thinking you’ve lied to them/picked the name for the wrong reasons.
Honestly it wouldn't even bother me. Especially if she guy I dated was just a month.
If however it was someone I dated for much longer... Then it'll be a bit strange but if you like a name, you like a name...
It’s just a name so it depends how YOU feel about it now.
