Daylight savings

Is anyone doing anything to prepare for daylight savings in a couple of weeks time? My LO gets up at 5am at the best of times, so with the clocks changing, he’s likely to bring that to 4am 😵‍💫😴 I’m already exhausted, as is he (he’s either teething or has a cold as well, so we’ve had very little sleep the last 2 nights). I had thought of gradually making bedtime a bit later but he’s so overtired anyway from this little illness/sleep regression that he’s screaming to be put to bed at 6pm.

I'm trying to push bedtime back a little every few nights. Been doing it for about a week. My lo was going down at 6/6.30 and waking at 5/6. She's now on average going to bed at 7/7.15 and waking at 7/7.30 I'm hoping to get her doing 8-8 by thr time the clocks change so she will be doing 7-7 but then again she's a baby and does whatever she wants so could go to pot haha

I honestly haven't thought that far ahead. If it becomes an issue I'll tackle it when it arises. However, having worked with a lot of children they often reset themselves within a week and just get used to the new time

With my first, I did the gradual bedtime push back over a week and it worked well. But she was 10 months and on a good sleep schedule.
This time around bedtime is still at different times most nights because his naps are random through the day, so I have no clue what will work 🤪🫠

Mornings will be lighter so prepare for that… maybe try a slightly longer or extra day nap to help push bedtime back a bit… use the day to fix the nights as they say

Health Visitor Home Visit

Hii, could anyone explain what the health visitor does on their home visit?

Also if anyone had a home birth, what the midwife home risk assessment involves?

I’ve got 3 home visits coming up in the next two weeks (health visitor, midwives and doula) and it’s making me nervous for some reason. I think having 3 just feels like a lot and a bit invasive if that makes sense!

Did you know this was a thing?

Didn’t know this existed! I’m actually not breastfeeding 2nd time round (though wish I did) after a bad experience with my 1st baby. But this is something I 100% needed 1st time round.

Fighting naps

Does anybody else feel like they spend all day trying to get baby to nap? I get tempted to give up as he must not be that tired but he is too cranky to play or do anything else!

How are we entertaining our babies

What toys does everyone have for their 7 month old?
Nothing is satisfying my little girl she's got blocks, rattles, playmats loads more. She would much rather hold my hands and walk all day but I cant physically do that and whenever I put her down to play she just wont, is this just a faze?

Any experience with different teats?

Hey Mamas

So my little girl is exclusively breastfed but she wont even take FRESHLY PUMP milk from the bottle. I had a whole 4oz that was going to waste and baby girl was just massanging her gums and smiling lol :/
Ive tried adding extra holes with a needle, the ol' switcheroo (BF first then switch ti bottle) but she's very keen and notices straight away.
Im currently using Nuby and Tommee silicone bottles, and I would like to try more softer, boob-like teats.

Id ideally like her to take a bottle so Dad can give me a REAL break yknow.

Has anyone had this same experience? Any teats one would recommend?
Thank you in advance!
