In the hospital they gave me a peppermint tablet. I did help slightly but not completely you may get some slight relief with peppermint. Not helpful but I really found the trapped wind worse than the pain from the section!!! Xxxx

Try gently massaging your tummy if not too painful or laying on bed with hips raised on pillow for a bit then standing again after. Helps to move things about a bit.

Pepper mint tea works wonders x

@Katie I do to!! I’m not struggling at all with my C-section but the gas had me crying last night

I found it worst up in my shoulders which was very weird! It did get better after a few days, which is unhelpful when you are suffering now but I just found I had to ride it out and it eventually went! Xxxxxxx

I was given stuff in the hospital. Contact your midwife, they might be able to recommend something. I found peppermint tea also really helped.x

Try boiling garlic tea

Lactoluse. Should be able to get it from the hospital.

Make yourself walk around, the more movement, the more air passes through. Also, ask for some gas x tablets, hot peppermint and ginger tea! Hope you get relief soon!

Laying on your left side can help release wind

I saw something that said to chew peppermint chewing gum.. not tried it to see if it actually works tho x

Peppermint water - the midwives prescribed it to me and it was amazing

I see lots recommending peppermint - be careful as peppermint is used to dry up milk, so it could affect that if you are BF

I used a medication called wind-eze, boots also has an own version. It's fantastic and I don't know why they don't give it in the hospital!

peppermint tea & lactulose

Windeze was fab for me!

Definitely move around as much as possible. Thats what I did and I don't remember having much gas pain at all

Gas x tablets they had to give me because of the same issue! It was so bad I couldn’t walk talk or move it went straight into my ribs.

They gave me buscopan in the hospital for the stomach pain, and then lactulose for constipation. The lactulose didn’t help and I ended up having to do a suppository to help me go 🙃

Thank you guys for all the help!! What I thought was gas pain actually ended up being something much more severe and I needed to go back in for emergency surgery last night 🤦🏻‍♀️ back at square one with my healing from this C-section

@Tamsyn thank you very much! 🙏🏻💕
