Black eye

They might ask about it and they may pop something in the notes of the red book but a black eye on its own isn’t cause for concern. I’ve seen little ones turn up to swim class with all kinds of bumps and bruises that make you think ‘how did that happen?’ But you know they’re toddlers and getting bruises is part of it all.
My little boy was seen by a HV at 19 months old for something completely unrelated. He managed to bruise his cheek and she questioned me because it’s such a cushioned area and he still managed to bruise even though it was no bigger than a 5p. She jotted it down in his red book.

My LG managed to walk into our car door and I took her to a and e because it was a bump to her head. There were no concerns whilst there but they flagged it to the HV team and a HV called me. They just asked what happened and they were fine about it
