Feeling guilty

I’m 31 weeks and 2 days today. I don’t have long left. Still haven’t got everything for baby boy super anxious and upset with my self.. just life has went by so fast and with the process from graduating uni this year, to finding a place to call home, then to moving in just had a lot on… doing this all pregnant has been tough.

Don’t feel guilty - I made the decision to not buy anything until 29/30 weeks - a lot of people I spoke to also did the same. I am feeling a little overwhelmed with what to get (especially what to put in hospital bag for some reason) but there’s still time. 31 weeks today. We went to a couple of baby shops last weekend to pick out our pram etc xx

Don't worry at all! Sounds like you've had a really busy few months, be kind to yourself 🥰

You've still got a few weeks to go, so I would write a list of what you still need to get so you can focus on that, and just start ordering a few bits online or nip to a shop and have a look around. Enjoy it 😊 Plenty of time.

Are you having a baby shower? If so, the guests will be buying things too, so that will help!

It may feel overwhelming now, but you'll get there ❤️

Thank you for responding Emma. I just feel so guilty and would love to have started earlier to buy things for baby boy but I’ve had a lot on. I feel like I’ve blinked and I’m in my third trimester, time is going by really fast.. x

Becca thank you for your response. I know I have been buying a few bits and bobs, but just wishing I started earlier , with moving and having to buy new furniture ect it’s having the money, it’s eating me up that I could of had majority of things done by now but it’s been left to last min 💕

hey! Try not to worry - this is my second, and first time round i worried and bought way too much. I didn’t touch my hospital bag until after baby came (no time!) and hardly used any of the stuff i had bought. Also prepared a nursery with furniture - that we didn’t use for 6months! Bottles that i hardly used as i mainly breastfed. You can really go overboard buying for babies i think.

All you need is something for baby to sleep in. Some vests and sleep suits, warm cardigans, blankets, a coat and hat.. and some way of carrying baby and a car seat. Again i bought a pram and used mainly a carrier/wrap. Only thing i found useful to bulk buy was nappies and wipes as it was one less thing to worry about going out and getting. You can always buy online (amazon) if you feel you need anything once baby is here - no pressure to go out!

Thank you Eira, I’m a first time mum to be, so I’m super unsure and have been feeling so guilty. I have been trying to reassure my self from time to time but what you have recommended helps and I will for sure go off what you have mentioned. Thanks for being so lovely 💕

No worries, happy to chat if you want to message. Can also send you a list of what i packed in my hospital bag and what i actually used. I found it so overwhelming the first time round, and this time I’m so chilled (still haven’t packed my hospital bag).

I read so much and got so invested in buying “must haves” that sat gathering dust and i ended up selling as i found they just didn’t work for us. So meet your baby, see what they like, my son hated those love to dream swaddles for example, and id bought 4! Ended up buying other bags. Get the basics, see what works for you guys, what your baby likes and take it from there. Good luck, it will all be fine 👍

Hey, that is a lot you have had on! Don’t feel bad I’m 32 weeks and I’m not prepared at all, have the same guilt and unsure what I really need. I know what you mean I can’t believe where the last few months have gone! But honestly all we can do is our best and it’s just the way life has gone in not being as prepared as you like, but don’t feel bad, still time to grab bits and pieces and lots leave until 30 weeks x

Don't feel guilty! Babies don't actually need a lot, we just tend to get swept up in it.
I got loads of clothes 2nd hand on Facebook marketplace for so cheap that I've now gone overboard and I don't think I'll ever be able to use it all.
Partner fell into the gadget trap and got all kinds of steriliser gadgets etc.
But we still have no car seat or pram and we've been shopping since week 16 😂 nor do we have post partum stuff for hospital bag 🤷🏻‍♀️ there's plenty of time!

Ull do just fine mama 🥰

I’m 32 weeks, don’t have our pram, crib, cot, wipes, nappies or anything haha! Have a few clothes and that’s it so far! I just feel like I have ages left! Definitely don’t beat yourself up! You’ve still got time to get bits!

39 weeks pregnant FTM

39 weeks baby hasn’t come yet and I am just full of anxiety. I am trying to relax. I am trying to chill, but I can’t chill. I do not want to be induced. I would love to have her natural. Issue is I am tight down there and petite and baby is measuring big like the head especially. I know that measurements can be off. But I have photos! And she is a chunk. This is so unpredictable. How do I just put my faith forward and trust in God and how do I let go of this anxiety? I am doing fine and then boom it hits me and I want to ball my eyes out. I am trying to treat myself and do little things but driving or doing anything is so hard now and I’m so huge and uncomfortable …I’m at my breaking point 😭

So ready for second trimester 🥲

I really really hate the first trimester. It’s exhausting, no appetite, not enough hours to get the amount of sleep I need, headaches, smell sensitivity, and overall just feeling like crap! And I don’t want to announce anything until 14 weeks since I’ve had losses before, and it’s getting really hard to hide it from my friends. Two more weeks to go….

Just needed to vent to others who understand!

Anxiety

I’m 10 weeks and I have had so much anxiety probably for the last 2-3 weeks I already deal with anxiety but it was a tad bit easier shaking it off when I wasn’t pregnant.. I am on medication but doesn’t seem to be doing much tbh— I see a lot of yall say it’s a first trimester thing but this is my 3rd baby and I don’t remember being this anxious especially bc sometimes I’m just laying and heart rate reaches the the 120s am I the only one? Please help with suggestions. I don’t want to feel like this.. I know pregnancy is hard but fudge this makes it’s harder 😔😔😔

SPPH (secondary postpartum haemorrhage) due to retained placenta -D&C?

Looking to see if anyone else has experienced this? Currently trying to pass retained tissue ( 4 weeks pp) and finding every day so exhausting just constantly waiting and checking my bleeding. I stopped bleeding on week 2.5/3 then bleeding picked up last Saturday and I haemorrhaged on Thursday morning with a rush to hospital. Everyday since I’m waking up scared I’ll be bleeding out. Worried to go toilet to check, I’m not convinced I’ll be passing it naturally and I’m worried I’ll need a D&C… has anyone had this? My retained tissue is 2cm so they said it’s small but I have no signs of passing it or blood changing colour to show slowing down.
