Hey girls has anyone who’s pregnant recently had there Covid vaccine? I’m on the fence whether to get it or not. I had them back when we were in lockdown but have heard bad stories about people getting really unwell with the new ones? Anyone any advice or have their own experience with it recently?

I had it last year when pregnant and it was absolutely fine. We all ended up with Covid then when the baby was 3 months and she was grand after a day of high temps so thinking she must have had some sort of protection

Didn’t take it when through the worst of Covid and no plans to ever take it. One midwife was horrified and tried to guilt me into it & another who I knew personally told me not to get it while pregnant. I’ve had Covid 4 times my child had Covid and non on us are any the worse for it but family who had the jab got it almost worst & had side effects from the vaccines including chest pains especially the men

I've never had any COVID jabs and had COVID whilst pregnant and had no symptoms. Took it again when my wee girl was born and we both just had runny noses. We've since been around loads of folks with it and haven't taken it ourselves.

I had the vaccine during my last pregnancy. Baby was born Dec 2021
We both took covid Jan 2022. Nd I took it again October 22. It didn't really affect us much.. we spent a night in hospital in Jan as he was too young for calpol etc and incase he took a temp etc. Although I have been offered it this time again I'm due January 24. And I'm torn weather to get it or not... I'm thinking the vaccine maybe helped me and my first wee boy to have covid but very little symptoms... And then I'm thinking if I don't take it this time is that not fair on my next child? To give them some sort of antibodies like I did for my first? It's so hard to know. I asked midwives and they said they have no rules or regulations this time around so it's all up to me weather I get it or not

Hi Shadea, I was on the fence too, I had all the vaccines back in the covid days but was reluctant to get this one as I’d heard similar reports. However, the reports I’d heard were on the last booster, not the new vaccine that came into Ni On 9th Oct. A friend of mine is a doctor in a hospital and said the effect covid can have on growth of a baby during pregnancy etc can be really bad, so I got it last week (32 wks) and feel totally fine.

I had mine a few weeks ago and totally fine, NHS do recommend it as you are considered high risk when pregnant. And it's been proven to pass the antibodies onto baby and helps prevent hospitalizations for the first 3 or 6months of their life (cant remember). It is on the rise again and would be horrible to have whilst pregnant and can be quite risky as well.... but obvs just my opinion

I had my initial 2 when early pregnant and my booster a week before baby. I got my recent one a few weeks ago and have been fine all the times I’ve got it with no reactions at all. Although it’s a personal decision xx
