My last OB appt was Oct 5th, I have to get the Rhogam, OB said it would take no longer than a week to get delivered to the office and should be able to get it within the week. She said if I don’t hear back within a week, to call. It’s been almost 2 weeks since that appt she ordered it that day. I keep calling and they keep saying “we have no updates we’ll call you”
Then last week, I gave them my FMLA paperwork for my job that I need to turn in ASAP, 3/4 Receptionists that I spoke with said it’s be ready today, and when I called I asked if the paperwork was ready the receptionist today said “it should be ready by tomorrow.”
Basically I’ve just been given the runaround for the last few days/weeks about things I need. I’m just really frustrated because it also feels like they don’t actually give a shit about really anything and they’re just rude and bothered by the fact that I’m calling. Like if I’m getting annoying just get my shit signed and delivered?
I’ve been trying to remain calm and not get to overfrustrated because I don’t know what is going on maybe they are busy, I keep making excuses for them, but I’m just super frustrated.
Edit: maybe it’s just because it feels like it’s been a lot longer and I just want things done.

How far along are you? It’s typical for most doctors offices to not fill out that paperwork until like a month before your leave begins. Some doctors offices won’t even do until the baby is born.

I’m 30 weeks and taking leave at 35 weeks because disability in CA starts at 36.

Unfortunately a lot of doctor’s offices are like this. You’re just another number on their list of patients. I went with a home birth center. I feel like they care about my opinions and needs way more than the doctors office ever did. Sorry you’re going through this.

I wanted to do a homebirth the first go around, but I felt a little nervous so I didn’t really do much research on it, and wouldn’t even know where to start to research, but I think I may do home birth next child just because I also don’t have room at home and money isn’t necessarily tight but we aren’t where my husband feels like we need to be to not have to worry about it… if that makes sense?

Yes makes total sense!
I was to nervous to do it at home too.
Im giving birth at a birth center with the midwives. They have it set up like a home. But some hospitals call their maternity ward “birth centers” so you have to be careful when looking at what you want.
The money part is hard because we had to pay up front which I know is not possible for everyone, but we should get reimbursed a good amount by insurance. I found a lady that helps with billing for home births. There’s lots of options for your next. But I’m sure this birth will go smoothly. You’re almost done! Just stick to what you want and need. Remember everything is your say. They might get annoyed you want to do things your way but it’s your birth.

hubby and I still have to book a tour of the hospital I will be giving birth at. So that’s definitely very nerve wracking and I’m just overall nervous. 😭
