I’m dead worried. My son shakes his head every now and then sideways (quite hard) and I thought it’s because he’s teething (pain) or excitement but today we went to the park and he did again (not sure if he was scared or what).
Any advice? Did this happen to anyone? Is this a sign for a health condition???
If I bring it up to the paediatrician he will just dismiss and say he’s fine but damn, I’m so worried.

What do you mean sideways? As in “no”? My son does it a lot, he thinks it’s funny.
Yes, as in no but most of the times he doesn’t think it’s funny, he just does it from pain/frustration I don’t know. I’m just worried. Was wondering if you know if this can happen because of teething?
Thank you x

I am not a medical professional, but I would assume it’s normal. They do many weird things at this age because they just discovered it or like the feeling or whatever. Get his ears checked at the GP if you think that might be pain to rule out ear infection and ask for advice, but I wouldn’t panic about such thing unless he has any other concerning symptoms.

My daughter has done this off and on for months. At the beginning I was worried but she did it becuase she found it funny. Other times she would do it when she was mad or frustrated. Now she does it becuase she loves to tell me no at any chance she can. I would say he’s is just learning his body and it’s normal but if he’s showing signs of illness or pain in his ear maybe just get him checked to be on the safe side? Xx
