Hello twin moms-to-be,
I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed when it comes to calculating my calorie and protein intake for a twin pregnancy. I'm currently at 18 weeks, and I can't help but worry if I'm providing the right nutrition for my little ones.
Could you please share how much protein and calories you typically consume in a day?

I don’t count. I just try to make sure I’m eating something that I know is high in protein. Beef, chicken, eggs, cheese, I fucking love milk when I’m pregnant 😭 but still have sides of vegetables to keep everything flowing lol think chipotle bowls type meals.

My dr specifically wants me taking in a lot of protein because she said when my glucose drops fast from too many carbs digesting fast that results in me be dizzy & lightheaded (which was terrible for me first trimester) but she never mentioned counting calories.

I wouldn’t worry about having to hit a certain amount! The babies will take what they need from you regardless and you get what is left.
Just focus on eating little and often with protein, veggies and carbs in each meal x

I got a nutritionist when I found out I was having twins and she said number of calories was less important than protein.
She said I needed at least 100g of protein/day. I ended up averaging around 115g/day.
My twins were born at 33 weeks and each weighed about 4 1/2 lbs which my health team said was amazing considering how early they were born. I really think it was 95% because of how much protein I was eating.
