Solids

Hi! My daughter is 10.5 months old. Sometimes she doesn't like the meals I make and refuses to eat them. When that happens, do you offer a different meal for that feeding, or do you just skip that meal and wait until the next one? Also, she's still exclusively breastfed.

Any advice please?

Hey Mamas 👋

Looking for some advice, My little one has just turned 9 months old (he was born 4 weeks early so corrected age 8 months - Just for context), he is only tolerating puree or mashed food - when I introduce him to lumpier texture he gags and then vomits (also his milk that he has has an hour before any food) He has food through those dummy things (cut up fruit etc). I have mentioned it to my GP and he wasn’t concerned.

He also plays with finger food and rarely eats it.

Has anyone been through this should I wait and see (like dr advises as milk is still there main source of “food”)?

Thanks in advance 💖

8m old baby not interested in food

My 8m old baby is still on purées. Started weaning at 6.5 months, had a few days break as he was unwell. There’s been a few things he’s eaten like peach, Avacado and peas but I feel like we’re stuck. Now he’s teething again he’s not interested (I know it’s normal to go off food when teething) but worried it’ll set us back. It’s partly due to me because anxious about going onto lumpy foods and also him not really wanting to eat anything. Sometimes he’ll barely even have a few spoonfuls of most things. Seeing the HV tomorrow for some advice hopefully but all I see online is great eaters at the same age and they eat a lot. Feel like I’m doing him a disservice somehow

Spoons to start solids

Are there any favorite spoon brands to consider as we’re preparing to start solids? Or any features we should look for or avoid when getting gear for solids?

Help why isn’t he eating 😭

My LO (11m) is so up and down with food & is so fussy at home but if I feed him while we’re out and about or if I treat us to a Nando’s he eats so much. It gives me so much anxiety how one day he literally refuses all food and has breast only (considering stopping bf so he eats better???) then others he eats everything offered to him. He’s currently also spitting food out as a game, so testing sigh

Weaning

Our baby girl is now 5 months old and I wanted to know what are the signs that she should be wanting to start on solid food ( weaning).

Feeding 6 months baby

Hi! My baby is 6 months now and I am trying to give him food in de BLW way and also in pureed way. But none of them he likes and he doesn’t eat, he maybe gets a little in his mouth and he sort of spills it out. Any recommendations?

First time mum & my little one is 7months at the end of this week and I’m stuck for ideas on what meals to prep & introduce!
I’ve done the basics/ purees but if anyone has any homemade meal suggestions I’d appreciate it! BTW or chunkier purees❤️

Baby led weaning challenges

Anyone have any tips on how to get over the fear of giving your baby foods other than purées?

Moving with boyfriend and his son. His son annoys me so much when it comes to food. How do you handle your stepchild or child eating habits? (He’s 13)

Ex. I made chiptole at home, literally every side dish you can think of to put in your burrito. He literally ate 90% of the meat, lettuce and cheese - that’s it. Opens up chips that I would bring over, rips the sides off. Today I found out he opened up literally 5 packs of pancakes just to take 1-2 out of each(their 3 packs) instead of finishing up the pack from before.

Interest in solids

Anybody's baby has started showing a lot of interest in solids? My husband wants to let her lick or have some of his food, I don't think that's a good idea but welcome to hear some thoughts and comments. Thanks

How many ice creams / lollies are your 3 YOs having during the summer?

Our daughter is currently out of nursery until September, trying really hard to not let her have an ice cream/lolly every day but it’s hard to not when it’s so sunny and hot and we are out and about with ice cream vans everywhere and other children having them 🥴 what is everyone else doing about this? Do I just relax and accept it’s a temporary things until it (eventually) cools down and she’s back at nursery?

Rice Cakes

My little boy loves the organix rice cakes. I’m just wondering if he can have too many in a day? To add, they don’t replace any of his main meals, he still has very generous portions of these and his snacks such as fruit! They don’t seem to stop him eating all the other food so I’m not worried about that side of things.

But he’s obsessed at the moment and has tantrums if he doesn’t get them! I don’t know how many we end up giving him over the day but it’s more than the 2 recommended portion size!

Fussy with food

Hey I have a 14 month nearly 15 month old girl, and she is sooo fussy with her food and I don’t know why!
She has a bottle first thing and then when she goes to bed! If she hasn’t eaten most of the day I do give her one in the day ( but I think I should stop it) one day she’ll eat something the next she won’t. I really don’t know what to do! Has anyone got any suggestions for me?
