Baby bels

Today I was telling my MIL what I had in the cupboards/fridge as she was looking after my 14 month old for the day. I mentioned he had a vegetable pin wheel, various fruits and said there were some mini baby which he enjoys. She suddenly responded ‘baby bels are the worst thing you could possibly give him’ and told me they’re full of salt. They have 0.34 grams of salt in and he doesn’t have one every day and I never add salts to his food (zero salt stock cubes etc) and he didn’t try things like baby bels until 13 months as I was really careful with salt.

I’ve been upset ever since and had mum guilt. Am I being over sensitive or would you be upset by this comment? And does anyone else give their LO mini babybels occasionally or is she right and are they so bad for him? He’s breastfed and doesn’t drink cows milk when offered so I’ve been trying to give him various cheeses and yoghurts to keep his calcium up.

Son won't feed himself

My son is eating a variety of different foods from pureed to mashed stuff we are eating. He is very food interested. To pulled apart food. But he is not interested in feeding himself. Bottle or even just tiny bits of cereal.
Any advice?

Stressing🥺

Anyone know ideas or advice on how I can get my baby to eat baby food or try solids? I’ve been trying to make home made purées or buying the gerber food and she always gives me a hard time, cries or loses focus when I’m trying to feed it to her. She’s 7 months old and I know her pediatrician said to start her on protein and get her to try some meats but I’m stressing because she won’t eat any of the gerber meats in the jar I give her unless it’s fruit that she likes even if I mix it to make a puree she won’t eat. All she eats/ drinks technically is the milk. I’m home by myself half the time a lot because my husband is in the military for the Navy and works all day on his ship until the afternoons except for some days when he has Duty. I’m not trying to loose my patience but I’m a struggling first time mom and I’m getting emotionally frustrated and stressed out. I have no idea what I’m doing wrong.

Have you tried the magic spoon? 🤔

Ive been feeding my almost 8mo purees for about a month maybe month and a half. Ive just used the regular baby spoons and he would mostly spit out whatever I gave him. He recently started swallowing a little more but still not a lot. Maybe a teaspoon the whole meal if that😞 And he also would only open his mouth once or twice, the rest of the time Id have to make him smile to open his mouth. But today I ran out of spoons (they were all in the dishwasher) so I used one of the fun spoons we have (I'll put a picture in comments) but it's an elephant and it's adorable, but it's also a magic spoon! Every single bite he opened his mouth and actually swallowed most if not all of it!!! And I tested it with 2 different foods, one that he rejected multiple time before! I was in complete shock cause j thought I was doing something wrong this whole time. Turns out I just needed the magic spoon!😂

Easy Meal Ideas for 9 Month Old

During our first few weeks of Baby Led Weaning I feel like I was cooking it up with the meals but it got draining very fast. Ive also fell into a bit of a depression so it's also been difficult to cook for myslef let alone my baby 😭 but we've still been doing oatmeal in the morning, purées and snacks. Does anyone have any quick easy meal ideas? Also how many meals does your baby eat in a day?

Refusing meals struggle

Really struggling with my LO and meal times, ever since she was about 9.5 months and was ill with a viral infection/uti she’s gotten fussier with her meals. It seems she will only eat yogurt and broccoli or those organix veggie sticks. Unless she’s reaaaally hungry than she might try some other things. She’s baby lead weaned but I do feed her at the end of her meals as she’s over the food so quickly and just starts shouting. I have to really entertain and try and distract her to eat even a decent small amount of food. She’s all breastfed if it makes a difference. Running out of meal ideas too! Anyone else???

Has anyone tried their baby on baby porridge yet?

My boy is coming to three months on the 8th & I think I’m gonna try him with it. It says four months plus but I think he’s ready to try it? Is anyone else doing the same or would recommend not doing it?

Mamas who cook or don’t lol.

We are 36 weeks pregnant and I’m trying to feed the family a lot healthier. We do a good amount of salmon and turkey, white rice and veggies. What else can I do?? I’m also not a super chef but willing to try heheh. Husband is trying to lose weight and I’m trying to have healthy options in the house. 😇
