Hiding snacks/treats

Sooo would you consider it mean to hide the good treats from your kids?? So my 3 year old has plenty of healthy snacks and fresh fruit to enjoy, but I won't lie whenever i buy groceries I will buy cookies and ice cream and chips sometimes for me and hubs. And I don't want my kid to have these all the time. He gets these things on special occasions, but my hubs and I tend to crave them pretty often I hate to admit😭 But I usually don't offer them to my child. I hide them of course and only eat them when hes not around or sneak when hes not looking so it's not like I'm indulging right infront of his face lol. Is this mean that he never gets any treats with us, or what he doesn't know won't hurt him😭

What are you feeding your baby for 3 meals a day?

What's your routine, what time is each meal? What kinds of things are you doing for each meal?

Meal times are a slow process for us as it takes a while to get her to accept the food but after about 15 mins she will start to eat, however I can take up to about 45mins from start to finish. Idk if it's something to do with her schedule or what were feeding her that we have the initial refusal

Best fruit salad recipe please

My 4 year old hates fruits. So i want to try combining a few into a fruit bowl. Not sure what fruits to put together to make it nice and tasty and do I add any form of liquid?
Yeah, I'm a horrible cook 😆

Question for moms with multiple kids

For those who have figured out how to keep snacks and food in the kitchen or at a designated table only - please give me advice. I have a 2, 5 and 7yr old. We do most meals at the dinner table, but all day they grab random stuff to snack on or they want to have a snack while sitting down watching a movie and I can’t stand the freakin mess. No matter what I tell them I find crumbs, spilled food, apples and everything in cushions and everywhere. I find it’s easier to get the 2yr old to relax and watch his show with a snack when I’m trying to get something done and i don’t think I can get him to sit in his dinner chair 😫. HOW DO I FIX IT lol

How many meals are you all giving your baby?

My LO is nearly 8 months and to be honest I only started introducing a second meal recently. But when do we really have to start giving 3 meals a day? I’m stressed about all the meal prep so just need to brace myself for when the time comes!

Using cutlery

Are your little ones using cutlery yet?
My little one will competently feed herself cereal and yoghurt with a spoon, but often uses her hands still for other foods when a fork is provided. Just wondering how everyone else's little on is getting on?

Fussy eating

Has anyone's little one previously eaten everything but now is becoming a bit fussy at dinnertime?

The last week or two he's not eaten much of the actual dinners we've had, and he's had some fruit etc instead so he's not going to bed hungry, but he's also getting to the age where he knows where the fruit and stuff he likes is kept so as soon as he doesn't try something he's sometimes straight away pointing there now! We try and give him fruit as opposed to his snacks when it happens but I'd still rather he ate his actual dinners aswell!

Any ideas or anyone had something similar and what have you done?

Fussy eater

My 17 month old is a terrible eater. Has never eaten proper meals and won’t touch most vegetables unless it’s in nugget form. Everything he used to like he just won’t eat now. Hes still gaining weight well but is very small for his age and always has been. The boy would live off bananas if he could. I’ve even tried deconstructing food incase it’s a sensory thing but he still won’t. Dinners have always been an absolute nightmare and I just don’t know what to do anymore.

He also won’t drink milk unless it’s in cereal.

Stuck with finger foods

I keep seeing posts online of people giving toddlers around this age things like raw carrot sticks. I didn’t think they were able to have that for a while still. Is anyone else offering harder foods like that? I’m still cutting blueberries in half so now I feel silly

Food aversions?

Hello,

I’m around 7 weeks pregnant and I’m really struggling with food aversions. I can eat carbohydrates and eggs, but the thought of fish, meat, chicken, and many other foods makes me feel completely put off.

Did anyone else experience this in early pregnancy? What foods could you tolerate, and when did it start to improve? I’d love to hear your experiences because I’m worried I’m not getting enough protein at the moment.

Thank you!

Tips for starting solids?

My LO will be 6 months next week so we know he needs to start on solids, but we're feeling quite overwhelmed by the process. We don't know how many foods to introduce in one sitting/day, how much emphasis we need to put on iron-rich foods in the initial stages, or how much time or effort it will take to prepare it all. Are people able to share their experiences of these early days, and any hacks to make things easier short of buying prepackaged pouches?

lunch, dinner & snack ideas for a toddler.

I have a 15 month old that's going through a phase of not eating much at all.

what's some quick and easy but healthy lunches/dinners & snacks options I can try and give him? I don't really make anything from scratch purely because I'm pregnant with our 2nd and running on very little energy 😴 & everything I've ever made before he usually just refuses or I've managed to mess up making it 😂🫣

2 year old avoiding fruits and veggies

Hey ladies !

Anyone experiencing their toddlers rejecting fruits and veggies ? My 2 year old will not eat anything healthy at all. All she’ll eat is chicken, sausage, rice, and cereal ! I’ve tried making homemade meatballs and sneak veggies in them but the moment she see a little piece of carrot she’ll stop eating it completely. I really don’t know what to do at this point and she so young to not be getting the nutrients she needs, what can I do ?

Getting a 1 year old to EAT PLEASE HELP LOL

My daughter barely likes purées, all she does is drink MILK and snacks ( the baby wafers, the puffs, and cheese curls.) I can’t get her to eat anything 😢 she spits it out or gags. It’s just extremely frustrating, and embarrassing because I see so many babies eating 4 course meals. And my daughter is still on milk 😢.

Are you bothered by the temperature of other people’s food?

I’ve always been a slow eater and for as long as I can remember people have incessantly commented things like ‘omg are you still eating that it must be cold by now!’ Then 5 mins later ‘that must be freezing!!!’ ‘Omg how can you eat that it must be FREEZING’, when the food is literally still warm anyways💀💀
Even from my parents ‘your food is on the table going COLDDDD’
And now as an adult, after not hearing it for ages because I’ve learned to stuff my food down me when around other people, I’m starting to hear it again! I’ll get my toddler a kids meal at soft play and naturally they’d would rather play so they’ll come back and forth for a bite occasionally and I’ll pick at some chips during the time we’re there. Now I get it from other adults every 5 minutes HOW CAN U EAT THOSE CHIPS THEY MUST BE FREEEEZING
Like they’re literally not but why do you care and what is wrong with room temperature food 🤣🤣 I couldn’t care less what temp my food is lmao why does it bother other people though??
& if it does bother you, pls comment WHY?
