Snack ideas for plane

What snack ideas would you have for a 19 month old that will keep her entertained on a 9 hour flight and will fit in these little compartments? Will take more of course.

Frustration over food

I am honestly at wits end with my little boy and his food. He used to have such a wide diet and now it’s so limited. It’s literally potatoes, potato waffles, potato smileys, chips, chicken dippers, plain pasta, ham, bread, cheesestrings, yogurts, bananas and chocolate. This is all he will eat. He used to eat carrots, broccoli, cottage pie, fish fingers, mince-now it’s like he’s on food strike. I batch cooked mince and he wouldn’t even touch it. Fruits and veg are a no go. Won’t even try it. But yet at the childminders he eats absolutely everything going including all fruits and veg. His diet is just a disaster and I can’t even hide fruits and veg because he doesn’t eat any sauces.

1 year old and eating

So my 1 year old has always somewhat had an interest in food. But he won't eat a meal at all. He spits 95% of his food out how can I get him to eat more? In replacement of this he has at least 5 bottles of formula a day

Lunch!

What are we feeding our babies for lunch? I’m really struggling with something easy and baby-friendly, because my son seems bored of everything I put in front of him and more of it is ending up on the floor/eaten by the dog now!

So please, throw me your suggestions! (No egg please, we’re making our way up the ladder.)

Iron rich baby food

Does anyone have any recommendations for an easy way to get iron into my baby’s diet. He’s still only eating purees or fine mash. He does have a bit of egg now and then but won’t each lentils, beans, broccoli or meat really. I was thinking of maybe trying some fortified cereals?

Food pouches for meals

Does anyone else pretty much only feed their baby food pouches? I tend to give my baby Weetabix, fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, but for lunches and dinners, I must admit, 80% of the time it’s always an Ella’s food pouch. I will sometimes give him whatever I have for dinner but it isn’t always possible. I think the 10m+ Ella’s food pouches are very good.

Struggling with solids

My baby is 9 months old & im still struggling to get him to eat. I really don’t see how by 12 months old he’ll be having 3 meals a day as he’s no where near that!

I’m lucky if he eats what I offer him, sometimes he’ll have a 2/3 spoonfuls and then he’ll have enough and refuse more. I usually offer food about 2 hours after a bottle, so I know it’s not his milk interfering. I’ve tried most things, finger foods & purées.

Is anyone else’s baby the same?

Weaning

My baby will be 6 months in a couple of days we have just started introducing little bits of food as she was showing all signs of being ready. I gave her something last night, as well as baby porridge this morning and was going to give her something this evening also, and shes tried a baby blueberry waffer which she loves. I was just wondering is this too much for her only just being 6 months but shes really enjoying trying new foods. Shes having about a tablespoon in the morning and evening and im just letting her tell me when shes had enough usually she wont open her mouth if shes had enough as otherwise shes opening her mouth for it.

Eating

Is anyone else’s little one always hungry? My little girl will have a full meal and maybe 10-15 minutes later she’s asking for something else to eat….i understand she’s growing but this goes on the whole day and not just the odd day I mean every single day and it doesn’t matter how much food she gets in her actual meal I’ve up the portions and still get asked for more food after.
Any advice?

Weaning help!

We’ve been weaning for about a month now and she’s currently having two meals a day. I’m often out and about during lunch time so tend not to do it then. I have no idea how quickly I should be upping the meals (and snacks). What are other people’s experiences?

Not interested in eating

Daughter is 6.5 months and we started “complementary foods” alongside EBF 2 weeks ago.
I know foods at this stage are more for exploration and learning skills, but she is really not very interested in eating.
All strong signs of readiness and shouts when we eat and tries to grab our food. But the moment we try to feed her she will actually swallow 1 teaspoon total, MAYBE 2 on a good day. She will spit most out and then clamp her mouth shut.

We’ve tried purées, BLW and loading spoon to give to her. She will take the spoon herself and open her mouth but the food ultimately ends up in her hand/on her face/in her lap.

Anyone else??

Baby steamer/blender reccomendations

I'm about to start baby weaning and wondering if there's any reccomendations to make life easier e.g a baby steamer/blender?

Any other essentials I'd also love to hear about. I'm terrible for cooking for myself properly but want to make sure little one gets to try baby led weaning!

Does your toddler eat a full meal after nursery?

I think my child does not eat enough at nursery, I'm told that he tried the lunch and tea. Does your nursery offer alternatives if they dont eat what's offered? I'm starting to think it's better I send a packed lunch in instead of paying the supplement for meals she won't eat. She's starving when she's back and wants a big meal

Nursery meals

My little boy started nursery last week and he’s not been eating much there at all. I know it’s early days so I’m trying not to worry. Has anyone else experienced this with their little one? If so, did it improve and how long did it take roughly? I’m hoping it’s just a case of him needing to settle in more and get used to the new environment/routine 😊

avoiding eating meat

so our household eats a lot of meat, fish too but mostly meat and my LO just seems to be avoiding any meat on her plate or bowl, she’ll eat her carbs and veg( depending what it is) but keeps spitting out her meat, the only other protein she’ll eat is salmon or tuna but i can’t just feed her that everyday and she’ll avoid that too if given too many times. i also don’t want to fill her up with snacks. should i be concerned?

Daycare Food

Anyone have insights on feeding frequency for full day daycare/ preschool programs in California? Is it normal to have 5 hours between meals/snacks and at what age is that the norm?

How have you handled the transition?

We have 3-4 hours between meals/snacks now, but we try to keep adult times for the main meals. Having lunch at 10AM and no food until 3PM feels more like "skipping lunch".

Do you give dinner after nursery tea?

I’m not originally from the UK so just curious! If your little one has tea at nursery, do you still give them dinner at home? I heard most British parents don’t ... is that true?

9 month old solid refusal

Hey, I hope your all well. My little boy is just over 9 months was weened at 4 months, was doing really well with solids. For nearly three weeks now when i go to spoon feed he glues his mouth shut & has an absolute melt down. He’s still on 4 bottles a day around 20-24 oz. I’ve tried reducing milk longer gaps short gaps between foods, also done baby led weening just lobs it on the floor or crushed it, but if I give him a wafer of melty crisp he will eat it. Any advice please? Or anyone else going through this? Feeding time just feels like a battle ground. Thanks. X
