I am having a nightmare with my 15 month old and dinner time. For context I do dinner, bath and bed alone 5 days a week due to my husbands shifts. Preparing dinner is a nightmare because she wants to be held constantly. I have a toddler tower which helps but it makes it quite stressful for me because she grabbing everything. I try and do some easier dinners mixed with fully homemade just to keep my sanity. But my main issue is she is just refusing to eat any substantial amount of dinner. She used to be a really good eater and now she’s become really fussy with food, if she could eat fruit and packaged snacks all day she would (I try to limit these for this reason). She also can climb out of her high chair and will stand up on it and sign finished after a few mouthfuls and then take my hand and take me to the snack cupboard after half an hour or so.
So I guess what I’m asking is 1. anyone in the same boat? Is this a phase? 2. Are there any really easy dinners you do that are a hit that I can try? 3. Does anyone have any tips/advice or words of wisdom as to how I can navigate this. 4. What are you doing if your LO doesn’t eat? Do we offer something else or is that making a bad habit? Should I limit fruit and snacks throughout the day so the sweet tooth can reduce a bit?
I genuinely don’t know how much more I can take and it’s really getting me down. She will tantrum and cry which means I then can’t eat my dinner because I’m dealing with her and it goes cold 🙃

To add - I’m pretty sure she’s not teething but I’m aware it could be a factor. She’s been doing this for a few months

Hii, I was in the same boat a few days ago actually for weeks. It just gotten better. My son really loves the paste I make. I started making it more often and will add some type of protein like salmon or mice meat and mix it up. I’ll send the recipe following this but tbh I make it on the weekends when my husband is home and I give it to him for the first three days so it won’t go bad. I would also recommend limiting snacks because my nephew who is only 18 months wouldn’t eat at all. My sister would make him everything and anything he wanted but nope. He would ask for snacks a few minutes later, she cut off snacks and would give him only fruits at a specific time. Now he eats so much better which we all realised too.

Same here, my LO will eat a third of his food and then ask to get down from his high chair to run around. Sometimes he goes to the snack basket to ask some snacks. I use moxed approach. If he just wants to run around i follow him with his plate and feed on the go. It takes longer, but he usually finishes his food and then i give him a snack. I know its not the best approach, but it works for us at the moment. When he goes to his snack basket before finishing his plate i always say snack after finishing food, im lucky he does not throw tantrums yet, so its manageble. What you could do try to move snacks somewhere else and when she goes to snack cupboard open and say all finished, maybe this will decrease the tantrums.
Also while cooking its a nightmare, he also wants to be held all the time and grabs evwrything he can reach. I end up giving him whatever i can, spatulas, potato, carrot, lemon, a bowl to keep him occupied for few minutes. Also i cook for 3 days in advance, so only really need to cook for

2 days a week and try to prepare whatever i can night before after bed time, like cutting meat, chopping veg ect

I also have a hip saddle, when hes extra needy i hold him in it and my arm does not fall off after short time, really useful. Mind you hes big boy, about 15 kilos now

I have twins but i do find letting them choose helps they love gnoicc in creamy mushroom sauce

I usually prep dinner whilst he naps /eats his lunch so he’s not under my feet.. the rest of it I have no tips! Bar no snacks near meal time..
But hopefully it doesn’t last 🙏🏻

Mine has started to do this and will ask to get out of her seat just as I start my dinner! I’ve found offering her food off my plate helps sometimes!
I’m a FTM to a wonderful 2 month old girl! I am trying to get back to making my own money so I don’t have to depend on my fiancé for everything so I’m exploring the world of insurance. I got my license to sell life insurance last year and didn’t do anything with it so I figured I’d try it out.. I got connected with a company that has daily 8am training calls and other meeting throughout the day.
I’m struggling with how to juggle attending the meetings and doing all the things at home.
My fiancé thinks I’m making a big deal out of it and it’s completely doable because he will take care of baby while Im on meetings which is great! However him taking care of baby while I’m in meetings is him holding her while she is sleep or maybe feeding her.
There’s still dishes and bottles and cleaning and cooking that has to be done. And I’m exclusively pumping to breastfeed her. Yes it’s very helpful for him to take care of her during that time it’s just I know nothing else is getting done during that time cuz men don’t multi talk like women do.
I just feel like I never stop moving during the day there is always something to be done.
I tried getting baby to a schedule where she is sleep from 8-9am but that doesn’t always work.
My fiancé can be super helpful at times but when he has her it’s like as soon as she’s sleep or quiet he wants to put her down to go outside to smoke or play his game and 8 times out of 10 baby wakes up or starts fussing while he’s doing that and I have to resume duties. I don’t mind but I literally can’t do that if I’m working. Or constantly leave my meetings to go get him to get her..
maybe I’m rambling at this point or maybe I’m really the issue and just need to do more idk.
Either way thanks for letting me vent 🥰

Long story short, I added my MIL to a chat for my daughter’s birthday party. She had been feeling disconnected from my daughter so I thought this would be a nice way to keep her involved.
Well, she’s been buying things for the party and telling me after the fact, then I feel like an ass for saying no.
I know she is seeing the chat because she replies to everything but I’m just getting frustrated because she hits me with the “I just thought she would like it, but your in charge” or the “Whatever you want, mother knows best”… I appreciate the good intentions but I just end up feeling horrible for saying No, because it’s not on theme. This birthday is special to me and it’s the first one my daughter and I are actually planning together.
Should I just get over it or talk to her about it, because I feel like I opened the door by adding her to the chat. 🤔

I’ve called pediatricians office for emergency behavioral health services. Already sees therapist. Already in special ed for ADHD.
First incident- grabbed a kids shirt collar and the school says was “choking” them. The school didn’t have a very strong reaction to this incident which I find weird since it seems to be the most shocking of all of them ?
Second incident- called the kid fat, loser, slow etc after several times of being told to stop.
Third- when already being told can’t go to recess, pushed past teacher and ran outside refusing to come back in.
When the first incident happened, my child refused to talk to me or any adult about what happened and still refuses.
Basically all these incidents my child admits that they did them but refuses to share their side of the story or any details, claims they “don’t remember” and that they feel bad.
Since my child’s suspended for the next several days, they won’t get to participate in any school Halloween activities going on this week. I canceled our Halloween trip to see family. They’re home doing chores right now since I had to call out of work. No tv for the entire duration of suspension.
So far, i am also thinking no trick or treating. Is that too far ?
