‘Light duties’ at work?

I’m 8 months pregnant now. Is it possible to request lighter duties at work (office job)? Cases I normally work on have been re-allocated but I’m being asked to take lead on a task that normally is shared out by the team as it’s pretty intense. Any tips welcome

Hiya, I work in HR, and I’m also pregnant so hopefully can give you some useful advice!
You should have had a risk assessment, including or incorporating stress. If you haven’t already, you can ask for this. If you have already had one- you can still ask for another one given you are now 8 months and further along in your pregnancy.
You can absolutely talk about how a change in duties may be more appropriate and beneficial. Mention your concerns on handling the task on your own and it’s intensity and ask for help or reconsideration of allocation of the task. All the best x

hi! Thank you, that is really helpful. I’ve been off sick and did previously have a risk assessment that was regularly reviewed. This is a new manager and I was a bit surprised as I was told something else by her only a few weeks ago. I’ll discuss the stress aspect next week 😊
