Moving jobs

So I currently work for the NHS , I’m moving to a different area but to the same company , will I still be allowed maternity pay as it’s classed as continuous service? I also haven’t told my new manager I’m pregnant but I’ve seen you don’t have to tell them until 15 weeks before your due date? Would rather have the job in writing and then tell them as I know some discriminate against pregnancy.

It’s still continuous service so any maternity pay should stand along with annual leave entitlement etc. How far along are you? As soon as you get your contract through I’d recommend telling your new employer!

I thought so! I’m 14 weeks lovely! I’ll literally be telling them as soon as I get my contract through! Will just say I’ve literally just found out! Xxx

They legally cannot discriminate but we know any employer would be sort of disappointed to learn they’ll lose the new staff member after a few months 😅 Can’t be helped! At least having your contract will have it in writing so they can’t pull anything last minute. And you’ll also be telling them before 15 weeks to go as well. Just make sure it’s within a reasonable time frame to sort out maternity leave too (around 26 weeks or so) x
