Maternity grant

I was wondering the same as I gave the original one for my partner to take to HR on his workplace and all I’ve left is a copy

Still haven't sent mine off yet so thanks for reminding me! 😅 someone told me it doesn't have to be the original so I hope that's the case as I gave mine into my workplace and they won't give it me back..

Tbh on the website it says they will ring or get in contact for the evidence so I suppose if it’s the wrong thing of sending a copy they will let us know. I still need to send mine off too😭😭😭

are you on UC already? I’m planning to apply once my mat payment drops but I would like to apply for this grant and apparently you’re only eligible if you’re on benefits??

You have to send the original matB1 form. Take everything to the job centre, they will give you an envelope to send it off. I did mine Friday.

do they return the form back to you ??

yes I am on UC , payments are abit messed up though , they haven’t paid me correctly it’s a bit of a faff on tbh. But from what I know he’s you have to be on UC again I’m all new to this

If you need the form for something else take a picture of it or photo copy it but when sending it off for the maternity grant it needs to be the original form.

yes bevause on the back of the form it has my maternity pay form from work that my manager needs to sign

So that’s why I’m thinking of just photocopying this form and sending that

yea so I’ll prob not be able to apply until I start getting UC, and just for them to give you an answer is a month or something plus applying for the grant so I don’t believe I’ll be getting it before baby is here as I’m already 30 weeks

I sent a photocopy off last week because the midwife told me not to send the original. Got a text from DWP yesterday saying they’re processing my application so I’m presuming they’ve accepted it x

Oh really?? Just I thouroghly went through the form and on the end it says you must not send a copy but the original. Anyways, regardless I’ve took pictures on my phone and have also taken photocopies if I need the form whilst there processing this. I hope they send back if not I guess the midwife will just have to provide me with a new one if needed x

I just received my original back from them sent in the post . I'm just waiting for the decision. They said it would be 21 days, so hopefully, I will hear back next week or the week after

@Urgrlm I just received mine back in the post. I also photocopied it for myself, just in case before I sent it off. Thankfully, they returned it.
